Micronations Thoughts & Headcanon

I just want to get a feel on how you fit the micronations into hetalia headcanon. Do you see them as more younger siblings or children to their host/parent nation? Does their parent nation hate them for leaving??

I'm assuming that Hima-papa is leaning more towards the parent aspect, at least with Ladonia. During the x-mas bash, he refers to the other Nordics as "Uncle", which should mean that he at least would view Sweden as a father. Sweden seems to go with whatever Ladonia wants, and he seems to have a soft spot for micronations (going so far to adopt Sealand). Does this make Ladonia and Sealand step-brothers? No wonder Ladonia seems to hate him.

We also know that the micronations that were recently introduced have been around much longer (the 80s seemed to be a good time to rebel from your host-country), but they only became friends acquaintances recently. Do you think their parent-nations are overprotective and secretive of them? Do others see them as weaker for having micronations? How do you think other nations view the micronations?

And what about poor TRNC - do you think that any of the micronations recognize him as a fellow micronation, when no-one besides Turkey sees him as anything besides an occupied area?

Thoughts? Have you developed any headcanons of your own for the micronations? If so, please share! I am very curious to hear/read :)

PS Maybe I just made this up, but didnt Hima-papa make some kind of height comparison for the micronations? If so, can someone point me to it please??

PPS of course no bashing of others thoughts/headcanons will be accepted. Personal opinions are Art!

TRNC isn't a micronation though. It's a de facto state or partially unrecognized state like Taiwan and Palestine.

THIS! Totally opened my mind to all three being around similar heights to one another.

*and a new headcanon is born* LOL

I couldn't help, but notice during the Christmas event that it seemed like Taiwan actually was taller than Monaco! and Judging by how tall Monaco was to Seborga and how tall he is the other squirts... and so on and so forth! Maybe we can make our own height chart! LOL!

I think it would most likely be a case by case basis. I don't think Molossia would have a parent relationship with America (though maybe he would with a state-tan).

I'm sure that from the way he said it, when Ladonia addressing Denmark as uncle, it's more like "old man"-uncle than family-uncle.

But my view for the micronations and their host nation is differ from one to the other, depending on which characters we're talking about and the history behind their "independence". Although to be honest, from what I've seen so far, I actually have it quite difficult to see some parent-children like relationship between them. They're always feel more like the host nation's (younger) sibling more than son/daughter. I like to think that to reach that parental relationship, the "kid" should at least become independent and developed into a real country, and the micronations are clearly not in that level.

That also why I think that they won't actually hate them. Giving trouble and headaches perhaps at most. But not so that they've become some National problems. The host nation (again, depending on host-micro) will probably see them as a mere kids and let them having fun.

Gee wow! height comparison erm I remember that he had a text only reference on his blog for who was as tall as who (can't remember where the English version of that would be sorry! I EVEN WENT BACK IN TIME LOOKING FOR IT TOO! LOL! WHAT IS IT GONE? LOL! XDDXDXDXD).

Last time I checked there was no TRNC in that entry. Some fans seem to prefer him quite large for his full size version (I think that one Amore Mio movie was a good example of that. Last time I checked that was fan made movie, or so said the fans). Do remember before the Halloween event there was a small debate about a head sketch on the blog of a young boy next to Turkey in his reject costume being TRNC full size drawn by Hima himself, but it was a really sloppy fast sketch. It did have the same exact hairstyle he gave for TRNC in his hatless reference scribble, but not enough people cared about the topic to fight the theory to the death if that was him or not LOL Sorry Northy!

As for head canons. the only two I can think of off the top of my head. Because she hangs out with so many boys, Wy often has a "virginity check" to look forward to when she gets home. We kicked this around in a RP so many times it got to the point where somebody bought her like these "jumpsuit panties" for extra protection. I guess that falls into the "overly protective" category doesn't it? LOL!

I think that aside from Sealand, who looks like England and shares the same last name, and Wy, who also shares appearance and eyebrows with the rest of the Kirkland family, none of the micronations are related to their host nation.

In Ladonia's case I imagine him being adopted like Sealand. Kugelmugel shares ahoge and mole with Austria, but in the manga all Austrian humans are given the ahoge and they're certainly not all related to each other, so those attributes might just show he's Austrian. Molossia doesn't seem related to America either.

Several of the micronations seem to be embodiments of a vanity project (Wy and Kugelmugel for example). As soon as the artist who insists on Kugelmugel's nation status, or the King of Wy passes away, these micronation children will vanish (or go back to being normal humans, like that Japanese one). So I think nations see these kind of micronations as very temporary beings with an incredibly short lifespan.

Seborga is an example of a different kind of micronation. He has an economy and culture and a thousand years of history. I think he is seen more like states would be, like Bavaria and Saxony. I think he's more a cousin to the Italy brothers, otherwise he would be a very neglected sibling, considering he has always been there throughout the centuries.

The height comparison was mentioned in the same post as the revelation of the micronation wallpaper, I think. You will have to search through LJs history under the tag 'official' , I'm sorry I don't remember when it was. ;w;
