Himaruya is being his cute self again (will bears become the new bunnies?) :P

The clothes that the Baker Sisters will wear in next month's Chibi.
The clothes of 1960's America are interesting.
And it's good that they frequently used ribbons!

> Who is the person that got promptly accepted into the EU?

It's the country that makes beautifully ornamented, heart-shaped biscuits and uses them as gifts and even sells them as souvenirs!
(T/N: Hima-papa is probably referring to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Licitar
So yeah, there's an 89.5% chance it's Croatia.)

> Seychelles TV Program

Oooohhhhh! This is great!

>I've been thinking about how the West spends their New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Do they do things like the Joya no Kane (The tolling of temple bells 108 times on New Year's Eve in Japan.), make their first shrine visit on New Year's Day, hanging Shimenawa (A sacred Shinto rope generally hung on doors during the New Year holidays which serves as a charm against evil spirits.), and make kagami mochi or stuff like that?

Answer from Hima-papa:
New Year's Day in America is really mild.
They do a countdown, take a day off, and then everything goes back to normal.
It seems like in Russia, depending on location, it's a day off too.
Compared to the West, Asia seems to have cultures that make New Year's and Chinese New Year's very enjoyable.

Why didn't you notice, Mr. Worker?

The bear was too cute when it was all shaken up.
Speaking of bears, there was an incident where a bear dined on some pizza and dashed out.
Also, look at all these merry bears.

>You eat Yum-Yum too I see, Mr. Hima!
I eat it often too!

When I feel tired and eat some, I feel wide awake after!

>They covered "The Santa in the Netherlands Comes From Spain!" on the world list!
If you've been a naughty kid, I can imagine that one of Santa's little helpers will appear with a pitch black and evil face and take you back to Spain. (lol)

I would actually like to be taken to Spain!

It's the country that makes beautifully ornamented, heart-shaped biscuits and uses them as gifts and even sells them as souvenirs! Yep, Croatia -___- We sell them too...

[identity profile] boo-sagara.livejournal.com 2011-12-18 11:12 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the translations!

Those Licitar... I had never heard of these candies, but they are really beautiful *o*! And it seems you need a lot of dedication to make them, several days of preparation, is it? That just makes them look more awesome and tasty =9! Now my list of "sweets I need to eat before I die" won a new item!

I liked this Croatia dude! I hope he'll appear more often soon (in the Christmas's event maybe?)!

Here is an example of the heart:http://licitar.hr/admin/public/javascript/fckeditor/editor/ckfinder/userfiles/images/galerija/licitarsko%20srce.jpg
We usually sell them on big festivals.
I wouldn't eat them if I were you. Most of them (if not, all) are usually for decoration and it's iconic for them to have a small mirror on top of them. I recommend you to try "medenjake".They are honey flavoured and really sweet.

thanks for the translations! I hope we will see croatia soon... I've been there this summer, it's a very beatiful place(especially plitvice, I loved it )
:D

"heart-shaped biscuits"...what-like-these?
http://czech.republic.cz/fotky/obr.php?name=P4040038a.JPG&id=64927

But that is not true, right, Hima? That isn't Czechia, right? Right? You've said that you wanna Czechoslovakia to be two countries, younger girl as Czechia and older boy as Slovakia...

Damn it,why it cannot be that adorable girl in wonderful dress and scarf -.-

[identity profile] vysnia-cerasus.livejournal.com 2011-12-18 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
They sound like they might be Licitar, but since he's so vague, we'd probably have to wait longer for a name.
That girl looked cute too. His "practice" or undefined girls lately look like they could be used for characters

Loving the dress of the girl on the right <3!

[identity profile] wattmottdatmott.livejournal.com 2011-12-18 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
crotia! <3~

this heartshaped pastry looks like the "Lebkuchenherzen" they make in Bavaria... I didn't know that other nations have them too. :D

[identity profile] taylorphantom.livejournal.com 2011-12-18 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd originally thought the two girls were fem!Lativia and fem!Sealand, and I still maintain they would make pretty good genderbends. (Uuuuuuuurgh I really really want those dresses HIma-papa why you not a loli designer?)

Bwahaha Hima-papa mentions the bear that was wandering around in downtown Vancouver :'D Hope this results in some kinda Canada strip...

[identity profile] hoshiko-2000.livejournal.com 2011-12-19 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Now that you say it, that would actually figure 0.0. They *do* look like female versions of Latvia and Sealand 0.0.

[identity profile] castor-acer.livejournal.com 2011-12-19 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Mr. Worker didn't notice Mr. Bear because Mr. Bear was picked up on the outskirts of town (where garbage-binging bears are quite common this time of year), most likely in a dumpster that was tossed into the back of the garbage truck. The truck made its way downtown, and the bear escaped to high ground (the top of the truck) after it had been parked for awhile.

What I want to know is how that bear hauled himself on to the roof of the truck. It would be much more difficult than climbing a tree, wouldn't it?

[identity profile] icanshowyou.livejournal.com 2011-12-19 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Why are people talking about the Czech Republic? It says it's a country that got promptly accepted in the EU, which is Croatia. The Czech Republic already got in in 2004. And, other countries may also make heart-shaped cookies, but the Croatian craft of making Licitar was apparently added to Unesco's World Heritage list last year.

[identity profile] cherrylilith.livejournal.com 2011-12-19 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Why? Because. We learn trolling from Hima-papa. :P And because I love pardubický perník.

My dad told me about the Dutch version of Santa when I was eight. I just stood frozen for 5 mins. after hearing it. Sort of reminds me of Pleasure Island.
