Dude I'm seeing it now, too. They look really good together visually. (Time to head over to Pixiv! Mwahaha...) Personality wise... I dunno. I have a hard time imagining Germany flirting with girls! Hima hasn't ever depicted him showing any interest in girls, so...

Maybe if Italy tried teaching him? I think that would make a good comic strip... Might depress the GerIta fan in me, but would end up hilarious nonetheless. ;)

Honestly I don't think we can say Germany has no interest in girls from what we've seen in canon. I mean, really, the man is so socially awkward that he doesn't really know how to flirt. Germany trying to hint at his feelings for anyone, male or female, would be awkward and adorable ;3; Whenever he actually was aware of his own feelings himself. Poor guy, someone needs to teach him what social interaction is. Besides, it's not like he's really got too many options around him for girls to interact with for us to see if he has any interest in girls. I mean, really, he's mostly just interacted with Hungary so far, and it'd make sense for him to mentally list her as off limits for fear of pissing Austria off, since Austria is one of his few friends, and regardless of whether it's the case or not (my ridiculous fangirl side says it is but that's besides the point), it probably looks like they're still together to Germany, too.

Though tbh I just plain don't see any of the nations as monosexual. (No, not even Sweden, the way that note was worded wasn't really conclusive to anything except that he's interested in Finland IMO and it's been deleted, too)

...Sorry I just spend too much time thinking about nations and sexuality orz. Also because I know tone is hard to read on the internet, I assure you this isn't meant to be an attack or anything like that, just an opinion for discussion. :3

Makes sense! I do see him as interested in romance and all that, but far too repressed and awkward to know what to do about it. He does read romance novels, though. Hurrhurr. But yeah he'd be a pain in the ass as a lover, too, I'm sure.

I totally agree with you! XD Sorry if my original statement was unclear. When I said, "Hima hasn't ever depicted him showing any interest in girls...," I didn't mean to imply he's exclusively interested in men, but simply that he has never been shown by the artist to be keen on any of the girls... So far. ;)

Aw, guess they don't call Germany the fatherland for nothing. Judging by that translation he gets along quite well with the younger looking nations (Wy, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Sealand etc etc) as he seems to act almost like a father figure towards them. That's really cute!
