Interesting?

My friend name Kiba heard this in the store the other day and started singing to it and found out that Britain's summoning song tune is actually from a french classical piece called L'Arlésienne-Suite - Farandole you can listen to it here: On Youtube

To refresh some people's memory on Iggy's summoning song - here is the best link I could find. Britain's Summoning Song

I'm not too sure what to label this under...so please mod's tell me if I tagged it wrong! :)

EDIT: I am aware that this could be old news but don't be mean about it. New fans find stuff out all the time - shouldn't you just be glad we noticed it? Besides do you KNOW how MANY entries there are in this community? A whooolllle lot. A new fan couldn't possibly catch up to everything right away. D:

Ah yes, I heard about that too.

Looking into it, "Farandole" is a style of music from as far back as the Middle Ages, in which people would commonly dance in circles and lines. A folk dance, somewhat.

Why they chose that melody for England to summon demons/Russia to, I'll never know. :`D

Maybe because it sounded sufficiently creepy? Himaruya-sensei has shown many times before that he writes/draws whatever the heck floats into his mind at the time... maybe he had a hand in choosing the tune xP

kind of old news for me though... and I think it's kind of been pointed out before...?

in any case I remember hearing it in a japanese video from 2010

Those of us who're classical music types knew, new fans or not ^__~ but that doesn't count I guess. (My sister and I about died giggling when Iggy broke that out. Good times.)

Don't worry about it. You were sharing something interesting, and I think some people probably don't know about the song being classical music.

I used to listen to only classical music, so when I first heard England singing that song, I knew the melody, but not the name of the song. I later looked it up, and now I still find the title of the original song hard to remember.

Honestly, Hetalia uses a lot of classical music through out the whole series. So I am not surprised that his summoning music was also from a classical song. Though I will admit that I did not notice this until I read your post. Good find.

You are correct, especially since Austria himself likes classical music, and is usually playing Chopin on the piano. Many classical composers lived in Vienna. I also heard quite a few classical music played in the background.
