Okay, wow. That's absolutely insane. And here I thought the price I paid for the German Rose of Versailles manga was over the top. XD

I've heard that some people ask €200 for the first volume of Viewfinder, I already found that shocking [who'd even pay that??] but .. €700.. ? o_o

[identity profile] cappuholic.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
*scrolls*
eh, but 35 euro for a DVD isn't that shocking
*scrolls a bit further down*
oh.... Ooooh! O_O

who would ever pay thatmuch?
I still want a German edition ;3; damn you TP

It's losing in popularity, so I'd be able to understand if the Hetalia manga would become rare and pricey but €700 is quite... Something so not worth it. As you said, it'd be better to buy the special editions but not everyone can easily buy those like they can buy the english versions.

Is the first volume out of print or something, I can't really imagine any other reason why someone would ask €700 for it D:

[identity profile] siiy.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
tbh I find €35 a lot for a DVD e_e

IMAGINE HOW MANY DOUJINSHIS YOU CAN BUY WITH THAT 8D

lol with the proxy I use .... like ONE? XDDDD

[identity profile] siiy.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Doesn't archonia have them ? D:? Idk I thought they did, or it's only the anime.. If you can get them from Archonia it'll probably be €12-14! Or amazon.com - which will be $10-$15 [without shipping] .. so, still not too much for us ? D:?

[identity profile] siiy.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
LOLU<333333

didn't you see that list on my LJ with proxies ? /o/

[identity profile] siiy.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
DVD box ? How many DVD's and episodes does it have ?

Keep in mind, Hetalia is nothing that you can compare to some kind of blockbuster...
D: No I compared it to other anime series I've bought, there's this store in Belgium and I used to pay around €22 per DVD.. and a DVD box would cost fast €60-70 @_@

[identity profile] siiy.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
But Archonia also allows bankwire D: Or other ways without paypal, like credit cards !

[identity profile] pink-cass.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
The mangas on ebay.com have gotten more expensive as well, though not THAT much more expensive yet. I'm soooo glad I bought my volume 1 and 2 from my birthday money and didn't wait until Christmas (as originally planned)!
This is just insane.

[identity profile] cappuholic.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
eh~ but shouldn't weltbild and thalia sell them, too?
and those shops are like... everywhere~
reminds me I still haven't bought it XD

[identity profile] siiy.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Archonia (http://www.archonia.com/mangashop/en/) ! Best thing is, it's located in Belgium :D Better for European buyers ! Tbh it's also the only webshop I know that is located in Europe @_@ I mean, amazon not counted as it isn't a shop that's focused on manga/anime!

[identity profile] pink-cass.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I would just like to point out that these are DVDs with only the English version on them, no Japanese audio. I wouldn't be surprised if they cut out some bonus features as well. And considering that these English-only DVDs cost the equivalent of almost $50 a season whereas the US-DVDs containing BOTH versions (English and Japanese) can be purchased for about $30 apiece INCLUDING shipping to Europe, yes, I do think the DVDs available on amazon.de are way too expensive. (But then, this is an issue with most DVDs in Germany.)

they do <3

[identity profile] cappuholic.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
