I do hope I'm doing everything right, I've never posted anything here before. |D
I was browsing Hot Topic's website and came across a shirt I believe is new that's new for Hot Topic anyways. xD It's a man-style T-shirt with England, America, and Sealand on it.
:I Darn. I have too many black shirts. (Damn you, Death Cab for Cutie, My Chemical Romance, Potatoes, ect.) *sighs* oh well. I guess I'll be visiting Hot Topic soon.
OH OHMYGODYESSSSS I was in there not 2 weeks ago, searched all the clothing piles, and found no Hetalia. NOW THIS. Time to visit Hot Topic again~! :D (Oh, and the shirt's been around for a while, but that is DEFINITELY new there)
Dangit, just when I stopped buying their stupid, black & unflattering man-fitted T-shirts, (Well, maybe not "just". The last one I bought featured Death Note, so it WAS a while back) They just HAD to come out with a Hetalia one!!
England's not even one of my favorite characters, (lets just say Tsundere isn't exactly kawaii when you deal with a guy kinda like that irl. My poor heart can't take the emotional abuse sometimes :I) but I WILL be buying this to tell Hot Topic that I want (and need) MORE HETALIA!! <3
So like, Hetalia merchandise = great. But erm, all I could think of upon seeing this post was "does Hot Topic have the right to use Hetalia in its merchandise?" Because IMO it would suck if they're using Hima-papa's work to earn money without his permission.
I work for Hot Topic, and when HT brings in shirts, it's through other companies, so while I'm assuming it's okay and the company has permission, if it turns out they don't, HT will pull the shirts from the site and all the stores immediately. We did about a year ago with some Boondock Saint tees. The company had permission, but for only certain designs, an sent us some different ones not included, and in the end, we had ALL of the merchandise sitting in our back room forever. :/
And yeah, that's generally how I feel. Not planning on buying it since I don't really like men's styles or this particular design all that much, but happy nonetheless that more Hetalia merch is reaching the states~ |3

But I must say, if this is at Hot Topic, no doubt everyone and their mom's gonna buy that shirt. Not that really good looking, to be honest. :\
