[Official] Germany & Greece + other stuff

Funnybot

Greece! You're adorable!

Rough Google translate of the Japanese says something about "again" and "Greece is doing okay". I'm guessing it has to do with Greece agreeing to the latest austerity measures from Germany. It's getting pretty rough for them...

And the Greek word above him says *smile*

[identity profile] atiko.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
Almost! It is probably about the 2nd bailout, and they're saying

"... again?"
"Yes. Again."

Are you alright, Greece?
[with the implication of "wtf r u doin man"]

Bless you Himaruya, but the matter is so much more complicated than that. ;A;

Haha, I love how the title mentions funnybot from South Park. Good to know that Hima is still keeping up with the episodes and I'm glad that it's not just the fans that might've been thinking of Ludwig during that episode. 8Db

[identity profile] charlzway.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, Greece looks so happy here <3

AND FUNNYBOT. I see you've been watching some Southpark, Hima-sensei xD

MochiNihon looks hungry, lol. And the part about laundry... I think it's about how in Japan, people generally hand-wash and sun-dry their clothing (and in Italy too in seems), whereas in America, especially in cities like NY, people use the washer and dryer. I am familiar with this difference. It really IS like that

[identity profile] wafflesama.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
... is it me or is mochi!Japan drooling?

[identity profile] kuroda-kumiko.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
He is. Because he thinks his friends look delicious.

[identity profile] rosetteroulette.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
I love the "Funnybot" reference. :D

I also love the cultural differences in doing laundry. XD

HIMA WATCHES SOUTH PARK. OH GOD, YES. X'D

And America...dear God, RUN, Japan's gon' eat chu...

[identity profile] m-dono.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, first time I've seen Greece smile like that o3o

All this talk about washing clothes reminds me that I have to wash my clothes. -____-

[identity profile] saturndjinni.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I really love how chibi America is drawn in the laundry strip for some reason. X3 So cute.

[identity profile] cinziamattia.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
the post talks just about the laundry? or there is something else?

[identity profile] fluorescent-x.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
FFFFFFFUUUUUU---

Moichi!America purring? It seems like it, that's so cute. And I'm only slightly freaked by the fact that Mochi!Japan might try and eat Moche!America... D:

Nice drawing of Germany and Greece, but it's a nasty nerve spot for some... does anybody know any sites that have information on what's happening? Other than wikipedia, I don't trust that place for accurate information. D;

FFFF. Thank you, Hima-papa~♥

[identity profile] juandalyn.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I don't have a link, but I think it's that Greece gets money from Germany (and all other EU members) because they're in depth right now.
Since they all have Euro as currency it's important for them to protect Greece from going bankrupt.

It's true that Germany pays the most, but like others have said, every member of the EU does... well. And it's a bit more complicated ;_;

Do I see a pimp!America in that little comic...?

Also, holy shit, Greece is smiling. The more he shows emotion, the more he reminds me of my Greek step-family, ahhh ;A;

[identity profile] kigigiki.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Is anyone going to translate all the text? ^^;
Sorry, my Japanese skills only stretch so far... orz

[identity profile] twyxted-mind.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
... Oh jeez, these Mochis. America doing his laundry. And Himaruya watches South Park apparently?

Italy, if you wanna consummate your relationship with Germany, best do it before Greece does. What? That's the vibe I get from that picture. Now you cannot unsee it. MWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

[identity profile] fluffyazalea.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
For once I am not squeeing over China.

Because Greece has the cutest smile~. <3

[identity profile] seraphoftales.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. You know, despite all the soreness about Himaruya's Greece + Germany picture... The fact that it sparked conversation, though thankfully not angry conversation, is nice. It's educating...

The only thing I've heard about this issue is that there were riots in the streets of Greece, etc etc. But now I think I'll research more into this.

Though of course, as much as we love Himaruya. It's understandable to not like some of his art, especially on such a sore issue. Ahahaha And yet if he hadnt poked such a strong issue, there wouldnt be a conversation about it. Ahahahahaha I'm gonna shut up now

As for the picture itself, maybe it's like a synecdoche? Like one part represents the whole. Since Himaruya hasn't made an EU character, he's Germany to represent the entire thing? errrr

OR

on the otherhand, maybe all the other nations all ran away before Greece could talk to them... and unfortunately, Germany got slowed down and was therefore caught. Hence, the picture.

[identity profile] seraphoftales.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
that... was longer than I meant it to be... I'm sorry orz

Germany looks cross-eyed in the picture XD

mochi!Japan is officially scary XD

The laundry strip is true for me. I'm even washing my clothes now!

Mochi!Japan reminds me of those Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercials.

[identity profile] wayfarer-09.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Am... I the -only- person who saw the pic of Germany and Greece and first thought, "Surprise Buttsechs!"? ^^;;

[identity profile] onlyhereforthis.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 02:23 am (UTC)(link)

What the heck is this pathetic piece of article.
Nothing against you, if it sounded like that, I'm sorry. But it seems like the author lives in a bubble from 60 years ago and doesn't understand the current situation - that Greece simply failed their economy.
