DC Cherry Blossom Festival Meet-Up!

TheWashington DC National Cherry Blossom Festival is just about to start!
I was hoping to plan a cosplay meet up of some sort on the day of the street fair, which is as far as I can tell, on April 9th.
People of the Greater DC area, please come gather and romp! If you're planning to attend the festival and would like to join a larger party, this is the place to do it!
Once we're more cetain of the set up, we can plan a meet up spot.
So who's in?


I personally don't know any cosplayers here, but I'm going to cosplay anyway! (Forever alone?)

I'D BE IN! I'd have to find a way to get there, but still! My Ameriko can drive, so maybe she'll take us to the metro station to get there! I cosplay Igiko, but I dunno if I wanna go around in a piggy-tail wig on the subway... xD

Don't even try to drive to get there. Seriously if you can get to a metro station, use that, driving and parking in DC is a major pain no matter the day of the year. And most of downtown will be blocked off for the ninth anyways.

For anyone worried about taking the metro in cosplay, don't be. My friends and I used metro to move around for conventions, meet ups, and what not before we were really able to drive. BUT BE WARNED THE STREET FESTIVLE IS ONE OF METRO'S BUSSIEST DAYS OF THE YEAR (like probably only second to the fourth of July) Because of that anything large should be left at home. The best metro stop to get off at would be federal triangle if you are looking to see the parade have some food, and what not. To go home though you may want to walk to the Metro Center stop, that way if you are heading back to the suburbs you can cut off the majority of the tourist and get comfy without having to squeeze in with a bunch of people.

I am currently talking with my dad about him taking me to the event, but he does not know if he will be able to or not. If he is unable to take me, would anyone be willing to give me a ride? I would be willing to pay for all costs (gas, etc.).

I think our best chance for a meeting place is by the Jpop stage, though I'm not entirely sure where that's going to be this year. It should be at one end of the fair. I'll make a new post about this all in a bit.
