Height Chart?

I know that some of the nations have official heights, but is there any kind of height chart that helps compare them? I thought I recalled seeing one, but it might have been fan-made. Any ideas??

Thanks guys!

Hmm... I uplodad again, but it stays so small every time. The original I have is small too but looks clear when I zoom in. I don't know what's the problem -____- *feels like a noob*

Thanks for sharing it :3
But I always thought Hungary has no official height? o.O

LOL was actually just discussing this on DA...

I've made up my own height chart based on the character designs. It bumps some of the heights up to better levels, seeing as Russia would be considered tall... IN JAPAN OTL He's not even 6 foot according to official heights...

If anyone wants, I'll share. I'd really like some input~

I, for one, would like to see :>

Oh, I'm hella interested. On the other end of the height spectrum, it's always bothered me that Sealand's supposed to be a twelve-year-old kid but he's only 130 cm?! I'm 150 cm -- yeah, I'm tiny -- but all the twelve-year-olds I see are my height or taller. :\

[identity profile] daisoku.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just above 150 cm now, and I'm 15...

I think I was just above 130 at Sealand's age, so it's not unheard of, just uncommon.

...;.;

/is bloody small/

So, first thing's first, I did this by comparing the heights we see in images. So even if official heights list someone as a certain height, I changed it so that it's more realistic to the character, but still keeping everyone in proportion. Next, I wasn't gonna try to give every single character an exact height, so I just grouped those that would all be within three inches. This means that those in the same group can be the same height, or have a difference of 3 inches at most. The height of each group, for example 6'0", means that the characters in that group range from 6'0" to 6'3".

This was kinda fun to do. Started by assuming the tallest and shortest: Russia and Sealand. Russia is freakishly tall at 6'6", while I made Sea-kun increadibly short at 4'6" and yess, I've seen 12yo that bloody short... So, I put post-its on my wall, from 4'6" to 6'6", marking off every 3 inches, then estimated on how tall each character was stand-alone, compared to others, and the sterotypical height for each country. This is what I have. If you think some things should change, or I'm missing chars, please do tell me and I'll do my best to fix it.

6'6": Russia, Sweden, Netherlands
6'3": Germany, Denmark, Cuba, Turkey
6'0": America, Canada, Australia, Greece, Estonia
5'9": France, Spain, Prussia, Austria, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belgium, Norway
5'6": England, Veneziano, Romano, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland, Korea, Thailand, Bulgaria, Iceland, Finland
5'3": China, Hong Kong, Egypt, Monaco
5'0": Japan, Seychelles, Liechtenstein, Belarus, Vietnam
4'9": Latvia, Cyprus
4'6": Sealand, Taiwan

OTL Old list is old. I know I'm missing New Zealand, Wy and Seborga... anyone else?

I'm nearly twice your age. ;A; If you're past 150, you're doing better than I ever will. XD

I don't remember how tall I was when I was twelve, but also keep in mind that Sealand's a boy. Girls are generally taller than boys as children, but adolescence is when things start to turn around and boys grow like weeds.

[identity profile] daisoku.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Awwh~ But it's fun to be small sometimes. X3
You can fit into places others can't. :D

True! Then Sealand can be that tall, plus the size factor for the land could come into the countries' heights, plus he's England's lil' brother, so I guess it makes sense, really. :3

@.@ I really should stop thinking about this...

[identity profile] omgimsuchadork.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not saying it's not fun to be tiny (hello children's movie tickets!), but it gets annoying when I'm the oldest of a group and I'm the ONLY ONE who has to show ID :/

But then you gotta think that land size can't affect a nation's height proportionally. Let's make Russia the standard and peg him at 6'3/191, which is fairly tall (but from down here they all look the same, don't they?). Proportionally, that'd make Canada only 3'7.75/111. That's, like, seven-year-olds or something (IDK how tall kids are, and it's been a while since I've seen my nephew). America would be about the same size, and I know offhandedly that the US is about 40 times the size of the UK: this would make England about 3 cm tall. England's short, but he ain't that short. XD

I agree that land size should be some kind of factor, but for the life of me, I can't determine what. It occurs to me that there's no way to make one thing work for fifty (so far!) nations, especially when you get two similar-heighted characters with different land and layouts (America v. Prussia, par example).

We both should stop thinking about this. We'll only end up with headaches.

Ah thank you. It surprises me to learn that England/France/Spain are all 175 cm. Even more so that America (& Canada!) is only 2 cm taller. That's practically nothing. I really need to stop looking at fan art. > 3>

[identity profile] omgimsuchadork.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
I ran some elementary stats on your set*, giving the characters the shortest possible heights, and overall, it seems to distribute fairly well, if a little wide. It looks skewed tall, though, since you've got twenty characters over 5'6 and only thirteen under.

Ukraine and Belgium should consider careers as models.

[identity profile] taylorphantom.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Go ahead, and please share if you do! I was planning on eventually posting this to the comm so as to kinda get everybody to develop some sort of standard heights for the characters, seeing as I'm a sad panda when England is half America's height, or Prussia is taller than Canada... I wish we could all hivemind our headcanons for things like this (hair and eye colour, age appearance, human names for those without or standard spelling for those with...).

[identity profile] tsubasafeathers.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm but wouldn't a lot of the nations be kinda short since its only now that people are getting taller? Back then everyone was pretty short...

[identity profile] independenpol.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
there are a few mistakes in the picture ö.ö
poland is smaller than italia he only reach him to the eyes:
http://www.geocities.jp/himaruya/rpi.htm
and finnland is the smallest one of the nodics so iceland and norway are higher than 170 cm ö.ö

[identity profile] mykonos2.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps you're right, but I really don't know - the pic is not mine, I just found it in the comm long time ago... Maybe the OP wanted to compare some other nations so it shouldn't change much for her...

[identity profile] mykonos2.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
you're welcome :D

LOL LATE OTL

[identity profile] taylorphantom.livejournal.com 2011-02-26 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's true there are lots more in the "tall" category, but this is me comparing their heights when they stand next to each other in the comics as well as including sterotyping and personal bias (such as Greece and Turkey striking me as being rather tall).

Appropriate icon is appropriate(?)~

HA HA HA LATE OTL

[identity profile] taylorphantom.livejournal.com 2011-02-26 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
But assuming Russia and Sweden are supposed to be freakishly tall... and then keeping everyone else in proportion... I also kinda assume they would be relatively taller than the norm of their time. Plus, some have been growing since recently, like America who only hit his 19yo appearance and height in the last two centuries or so, or Germany who, if applying the Germany=HRE Theory(TM) that makes him bitty at the start of the German Empire, would only have shot up at the turn of last century. But I'm happy to see someone else ask this. I kinda thought I was the only one who though of these things orz. We could always assume they can grow without ageing physical, they just get growth sputs relating to how well their country does or some such nonsense... *shot for avoiding the question*

I was wondering this myself! I was wondering whether the nations would grow taller or change weight over time to sorta match the humans. If Lithuania was a much larger nation before, does this mean that fem-Liet would've have had much bigger breasts back then than now?

[identity profile] kichou-chan.livejournal.com 2011-03-09 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
I always have the impression that Russia [and all other Europeans] was freakishly tall.

OMG, I'm tall as Taiwan/Vietnam/Liechtenstein! (And I'm already 17.. /sobs)
