[fanart] Prypiat, Part 1/?
This picture actually has quite a story that goes along with it.
About a month ago, I was strolling about in a bookstore that had a photo book in the manga referencing section, which I picked up and flipped about. It showed a ruined city--rusted, paint peeling off the walls like "abortive flowers," an empty, yellowed amusement park, etc. I was in awe at this photo book, I wondered where this set was and how they went through all the trouble--
--and then I saw on the cover the title. Chernobyl.
So here's a, um, series of pics (if I even muster up the strength/patience to do the rest of them). I got the photos for the backgrounds off Google.

Had a bit of trouble on his face, actually O_O;;; it was hard to make it look like he was...smiling and upset at the same time.

I didn't expect the technique that I used to give him red eyes, but I liked how that came about (pleasant surprise!)

That wheel just makes me really sad--that, and the rusted over bumper cars in another photo. It's just creepy.

I have a Hetalia folder...and it's pretty much brimming at the edges^^;

I love the overall mood of it, even if it is depressing.
But you did a great job of creating that mood for it and Ivan looks lovely there.

I was wondering on whether or not to make it look more like an old photo, but I wanted to have it be more like you're actually standing there, and you're seeing him.

Also, I really like how you put the mood into this pic, it feels so lonely and abandoned, yet feels eerie at the same time it gave me the shiver!
Really nice job, I say. (^ ^)b

Thank you (^o^)/ If only I could animate it, I would, and put it to music TT__TT

I was always fascinated by the pictures of Prypiat, never thought of using them as a background.
And your icon is just XD

I'm very bad with drawing backgrounds myself, but I love using backgrounds in my pictures.^^; Prypiat just inspired me in such an incredible way I had to use it.
XD A very generous anon gave it to me!
