[Fanart] The King in the Mountain

Title: The King in the Mountain
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] sobdasha
Characters: Holy Roman Empire and Frederick Barbarossa who isn't really a Hetalia character but
Pairings: None
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Description: Playing again with Holy Roman Empire and the legend of his boss, Frederick Barbarossa: King in the Mountain

Legend says that Holy Roman Emperor Frederick Barbarossa didn't really die in the Third Crusade, but he's actually sleeping in a cave in the Kyffhäuser mountain, and one day he'll wake and return the Holy Roman Empire to its former glory--on the day when the ravens stop flying around the mountain. Also with Barbarossa in the cave is a boy whom he sends to check and see if the ravens are still there, so I put Holy Roman Empire as the boy, waiting and wishing for things to get better.

Also, the German Empire was apparently so convinced of the HRE=Germany theory that they built a monument using the Barbarossa legend just to prove this point.

I love this. The shading (cross-hatching? I'm not sure what this is called) is really cool.

Wow, I remember that legend, so fascinating! *o* And with your interpretation, it seems you have really read into my mind! ^///^ Oh, well, except for the fact you have much more style than me! <333 ...so lovely and melancholic! ♥
Thanks for sharing! ^o^

... That legend sounds familiar. Deja vu. ;)

Anyway, really cute. I love the use of cross hatching/shading/I'm not an artist and therefore don't know what its called and google refuses to tell me. It gives a really great effect. :D

Hahah, it's like they shipped HRExChibitalia or something~

Ah, all silliness aside, this is cool! I like your style, very texture-y looking~

Your shading is epic. XD And I like the legend you used for this piece.
