Summary: ...then you would not need any salvation this night. As he weakened, what Alfred feared the most was observing Arthur becoming too heavy for him, and their Christmas tree tradition getting too big for him.

Author's Note: Originally written for a Christmas fan book that seemed to have been canceled. As a Christmas fic, you may find it too depressing, but this was written with the recent economic depression in mind. I hope you will find some enjoyment in reading this, despite its flaws.
