[Fanfic] Deceit And Desire - chap01
Author: me (co-authored with Tobifan4444)
Title: Deceit And Desire
Characters/Pairing: Italy, Prussia, Romano, Ludwig(HRE/Germany). No pairings yet. Eventual Prussia/Italy
Rating: T+ now, M later
Warnings: Some violence and language. Yaoi. POV changes.
Summary: Feliciano was an Assassin, fighting to stop the evil Templars from corrupting his Italy. Gilbert was the high Templar Knight aiming to take him down. It was as simple as that. Or was it?
I straightened my armor out. Today I was going to kill that assassin that has been running all over town. He's a tricky bastard, too. Always leaping and climbing. But I've been training, and today I'll get him. I ran my hand through my hair before putting my helmet on. I put my sword in it's holster and headed out the door.
I saw my target run by with... sadly a few of my men following him. I cracked my neck and went around the block. I'll get him with a shortcut. I went through many alleyways before I got where I wanted to. I climbed up on the roof, like how I've seen him do so many times, and waited for him.
Heh, there he was. Right on time. Once he got to the top I withdrew my sword and held it up to his neck. "Hello, assassin. Prepare to go to hell."
I smiled as I saw him shiver before me; it made me laugh. "Whats wrong assassin? I thought you weren't afraid of anything." I laughed a bit harder and brought the blade closer to his neck. "Then again, all should fear the wrath of the Templars if they go against God." I drew my sword back and was about to hack his head clean off his shoulders.
"Bugiardo!" He screamed out, ducking under the sword. "What have Templar Knights done to make them Knights of God? All I have seen is death and destruction in their path. Where is the good, the Holiness in that?! Heathens! That's what you all are." He grabbed my sword, twisting it so my grip loosened just enough for me to lose my grip. "Possa Dio aver pietà della vostra anima!"
My sword, damn. He was about to attack me so I quickly pulled the dagger out of my back pocket and stabbed the upper part of the arm that was coming towards me. His shock gave me enough time to jump away from him and pick my sword back up. "The pope deems us worthy, if I'm correct. And I must admit, not bad...for an assassin." I held tight onto my sword and lunged for him.
He flinched, and I thought I would have him. But he dodged my sword and ran towards the edge of the roof. He looked back at me and waved ("Arrivederci, cavaliere~") and then he jumped.
The fool! I stood at the edge, looking down. ... He made it... how unfortunate. I watched him run off. He had gotten away for today but if he thinks he won't see me again he's dead wrong. I sheathed my sword and brushed myself off. The others just made it to the top. "Sir where is he?" one asked frantically. I grabbed the collar of his armor and towed him over to the side, holding him over the ledge. If I let go he would surely plummet, to his death maybe. "Over this edge and long gone. You all are a bunch of fools!" He flinched a little. "Maybe I should let you fall, so everyone knows not to fail me again." I growled, loosing my grip a bit. "W-wait sir! I've heard rumors of places he has connections. Places he visits...often," he stuttered out, and I smiled. "You just saved your life." I pulled him up. "Now get going the rest of you!" I shouted as they scurried away.
xXxX
The knight handed over some very useful information. The assassin had been seen most often in two places. One of that of an Artist name Leonardo Da Vinci and the other a simple man with a military background. I sighed. I would take care of him later. I returned home for the time being. I entered the house quietly, closing the door behind me. I looked to my left... then right... seemed safe. I tip-toed up the stairs into my room.
I was tackled to the ground. "BRUDER!!!!" shouted a small blond boy. I laughed and rubbed his head. "You act like I've been gone for years, Ludwig." He looked up at me with tears forming at the edges of his eyes. I frowned a bit and wiped them before they fell. "You went out after that assassin again. I thought you might have died," I smiled a bit and picked him up. "Ludwig, I'll be damned if I let that savage beast slay me." He smiled, which made my smile widen. "Now come, lets get you something to eat."
I decided to take Ludwig with me out today. I mean I don't plan on hunting the assassin down, and Ludwig was upset that I had left him alone for so long. I had on my normal clothing. Of course I still carried around my sword and I had my Templar cape on. I held Ludwig's hand as we walked about town, buying something every-so-often. It was nice, though I miss my home in Prussia. I couldn't leave until the assassin was dead. Why was I still thinking about that? I shook my head and Ludwig pointed out a dog asking if he could pet it. It was a small puppy wondering around.
"Hmm….I don't know. It may like so much it might follow us home." I said smiling down at Ludwig. "Then I can take care of it! Please! You leave me alone all the time," He whined. "Well... Ok...but you must take care of him." He cheered and I scooped up the puppy. "Let's go home and give it a bath. We'll have to stop on the way to pick up some meat for it, too."
We got a pound of meat and some bread, too. I let Ludwig carry the puppy seeing as how I was carrying the food. Not that he couldn't carry the food, but people in the market place would find it easy to steal it right from his hands. I wasn't planning on letting that happen. The sun started to sink in the sky. "Come on Ludwig, let's get home before night. No telling what will happen."
We headed home with no troubles, though I felt like we were being watched, and right before the sun set too. When inside the house, I placed the meat in the kitchen. "Ludwig. Put the dog down, fetch a pail of hot water, and take the dog into the bath-house. Bath it," I ordered with a smile on my face. Ludwig saluted me and marched off with the dog, giggling a bit. I smiled and got the meat ready to cook.
Dinner was pleasant and Ludwig did a great job of washing the dog. I fed the dog the meat scraps, though I think Ludwig fed him under the table, and set the dog out in the back. "Wait, why cant he sleep in here?!" Ludwig whined. "Because, dogs belong outside...you can get him a blanket so he wont be cold," I said. He ran off quickly and came back with a blanket. I smiled and wrapped it around the dog. "What are you going to name it?" I asked. He mused for a moment. "Berlitz," he smiled. "That's a nice name."
xXxX
My sleep was very pleasant, though I discovered when I woke up that Ludwig snuck outside with a blanket and slept with Berlitz. I sighed, smiled, and picked him and Berlitz up and carried them to his bed. I got back to my room and got dressed in my normal Templar uniform. I pulled everything tight so it would be fit and straight. I brushed myself off and grabbed my sword. I walked back to Ludwig's room and kissed him on the head before leaving. Today I would gather information, and hunt the assassin down.
I cleared my throat and got on my horse. hen I rid off to the assassin's house. When I could see it from a distance I pulled one of the local boys aside. "Can you go up to that house and ask for Feliciano?" I asked. That guard knew more than I would have thought handy. The child looked at me and put on his tough face. "Depends, what do I get?" I sighed; young ones and money. I pulled out my bag of gold coins and withdrew five coins. "You get these," the boy reached out to take them and I pulled my hand back. I picked two coins out of the five and handed them to him. "You get the rest once you finish the job, got it?" The boy pouted and put the coins in his pocket. "Yes, sir. Feliciano, was it?" he asked, and I nodded. He headed up to the house and knocked on the door.
"Yeah?" A young looking red-head opened the door. "Chi è? Che cosa vuoi?" He asked rudely.
The little boy coughed, "Um, is Feliciano home?" The boy asked, tugging on his ragged, dirty clothing.
The man frowned, "Who's asking? What for?" He sounded defensive.
"Uh… I-I just thought… I heard he could help my family… that's all…" The boy acted a bit sad.
"He just left almost a half an hour ago. He should be back late tonight, early tomorrow, depending. Maybe earlier, maybe later. Should I take a message?" The other tried to sound more polite now that he knew what the boy was here for, and softened is voice.
"No thanks, I'll just come back later," the boy smiled weakly and headed off back.
"He said he'll probably be back late tonight or early tomorrow," the boy said to me, smirking. "Hm... gute Arbeit... here," I said handing the boy the rest of the money. "What's your name anyways, boy?" I asked. "Alessandro, sir. Yours? If you don't mind me asking?" The boy asked.
"Not at all. It's Gilbert. Auf wiedersehen." I said, mounting back onto my horse, ridding off.
I came back just as the sun started setting. I hid not too far from the house and waited. But hours passed and my goal never came. I started to doubt if the boy gave me the right information. Just as I was about to leave I saw a figure in the shadows. That had to be him! I pulled my sword out. I wouldn't attack until I got a good look at him.
It was him, and he looked tired, too. Bonus. I galloped out on my horse and went after him, swinging my sword to lop his head off.
"Excuse me?" He asked after dodging, "Who are you and what are you doing?"
I turned my horse around. "Isn't it simple, assassin? I come to claim you're head. Let it be known here that Gilbert the great killed the "mighty" assassin!" I swung my sword again and charged at him.
"Gilbert Beilschmidt?" He asked, throwing back on his cloak. Not that it would help him at this point. I already knew who he was and what he looked like.
He grabbed my sword to block my attack. Impressive move. I jumped off my horse. "Heh, so you've heard of the greatness which is me?" I smirked. "So Feilciano Vargas, is it?"
"Si~ Grazie, knight, for your compliment." He said mockingly. I growled. How dare he mock me?!
"Hmpt." I held my sword out and examined his moves. Then I lunged when the time was right. But the auburn haired Italian ran off, too quick for me to catch.
I lost him! How could I loose him?! I walked around, sword drawn. I looked left and right, but I saw nothing.
"Verdammt!!!" I growled, stabbing the ground with my sword. How could I lose him?! I picked my sword up and put it up. Damn assassin, I would get him yet. I headed back to where I left my horse and galloped back home
I returned home with a bitter attitude. Ludwig was lucky he was still sleeping, otherwise he might have felt my wrath. I marched to my room, removing my uniform as I did until I wore nothing. I slammed the door shut and collapsed on my bed. I drifted off to sleep thinking about every way I could kill the assassin.
xXxX
When I woke up I put some pants on and headed out into the kitchen. Ludwig had already woken up and was in the court-yard playing with the dog. I smiled a bit. From the looks of it he also already ate, some leftover meat and bread he may have also shared with the dog. I cleaned up the mess and looked for my uniform. I could have sworn I had scattered it all over, but I found It neatly folded on the table. "Hmm." I grabbed it then got dressed. Usually the neighbors would look after Ludwig or I'd leave him here alone.... but I thought he better trail behind me today. I wouldn't seek the assassin out today.
"Ludwig, get dressed nicely, you're coming to work with me today," I said pulling on the fabric of my shirt. He darted in his room to get dressed. I smiled and he came out in his wear, a long black tunic, and tan-colored breeches with a cloak to top it off.
The dog followed behind us as we marched the streets, growling whenever someone got too close to either of us. I smiled. What a nice little guard dog we had on our hands.

Author(ess) note: My first post on LJ. I hope you all enjoy~! This story is actually based on a Assassin Creed 2 based Hetalia role play with my friend (Tobifan4444). I do have permission from her to post this. That being said, there are historical inaccuracies in this story (ie, Prussia as a Templar knight (he was a Teutonic knight), Italy having tomatoes (which Spain brought over from the New World. Assassin's Creed takes place around 1476-ish…), etc. Next chapter is from Italy's point of view. I'll post that within several days.
Also! If I have not properly translated any language within this story, feel free to tell me and I will fix it. I am not a native speaker (to anything but English) so I may be (expect to be, actually) wrong.

PrussiaxItaly! I adore this pairing to bits~
And ohmy, Assassin's Creed<3

Yeah, PrussiaxItaly is cute. ^^
Yes! xD I've played it before, but it's a tad confusing. Luckily, my friend helps me when I'm stuck.

Re: [Mod]

there is a 'threw my hair' that should be 'through my hair' in the first part of the fic.
'dogged' should be 'dodged'. also, in certain parts you used present instead of past as verb tense, so i suggest you to stick to one of the two, otherwise it gets too much confusing and it takes the attention away from the actual fic.
also, in italian it's 'cavaliere' and not 'cavalier', and it's 'possa Dio aver pietà della vostra anima' ^^
the start of this feels a bit rushed, so maybe you could try with smaller sentences and pacing things a bit, but overall it's not bad ^^ it's an intriguing fusion, though i've never played that game myself. ^^

Also, thanks for the help with the Italian.
And it might be a bit rushed, but that's mostly 'cause me and my friend have no idea(besides a general one) where we are going with this. I expect it to be kinda... random or rushed in some parts. But not always.
Thanks! ^^ It's a fun game, I think.
