[scanlation] America's Situation with Ghosts

Here is a scanlation of the comic "America's Situation with Ghosts", featuring the ever-confusing America and Japan (and translation of accompanying text):

■ America's Situation with Ghosts ■

■ American Ghosts Show Off Too Much ■

■ Corpse ■

23% of Americans believe in or have encountered ghosts.
And American ghosts are all a bunch of show-offs.

America's scary TV shows are so terrible that they make me laugh.

Ghosts are spreading even among ordinary people.
Security cameras see ghosts wandering around.
You take a picture of some scenery, and there'll be a ghost posing in the photo.

One that made me laugh a lot was of a photograph of an assembly like ones in Japan,
but there was a ghost standing right there in the middle.
The ghost didn't even have its trademark transparency.

It's like Americans show off even after they die.

The other day, everyone was getting all excited in the TV room, so I
went to take a look and they were showing these kinds of photographs
while screaming on a ghost TV show. It was like the stuff I mentioned above.↑

But if you looked closely only the Chinese guy was grinning.

But the scene with the scary-faced 666 kid standing in the back was really scary,
and yet for some reason everyone else burst into laughter.
It was very strange.

(... here is where the author's words end and my own begin..!)

I'm really bad at this whole scanlation thing, but thank you for reading. OTL

Etc:
* The video games Japan is holding are the horror games "Siren" and "Daiobake Yashiki: Hamamura Jun no Jitsuwa Kaidan".
* You can re-post these freely but please do not hotlink. Upload to your own server. ;3;
* the speech bubbles were really small and I had a hard time running around and screaming and trying to think of good ways to say things in English and ultimately failed at everything, so I hope you were able to read it easily.
* remember that the person who writes hetalia currently lives in the USA, so this is one of his many amusing reactions to American life
* japan why are you so cute OTL
* America-san, please be less scared of fake ghost photographs and more scared of those aliens that follow you around..!

thank you ★

God I need to finish my scanlation, I AM INSPIRED. ♥

This comic feels so dryly anti-American, but it's somehow so hilarious. XD

Hehehe. That explains why Ringu was geniunely creepy, The Ring not so very but Americans fell for it.

Thanks muchly for the translation. ^^

LoL poor Japan. I'd be about ready to punch America in the face by the beginning of the second strip. XD; ...Then again, I'm a complete wuss when it comes to ghost-hunting reality t.v. shows, so I guess I'd have to give myself a punch in the face as well. :| Puh.

Thanks for translating! ♥

Anyway, thank you for this! Much love! As always I'd be happy to help with the any typesetting or editing if you want to do more translations :D

Ahaha~

Suddenly I support JapanXAmerica.
xGhost movies (and maybe a shared blanket?)

Japan: -_- I'm bored... it's so cold in here. America-san should be tired by now... :wraps blanket tighter around self:
America: Uwaa!! So scary!! :pulls blanket+Japan into lap: (;_Y)
Japan: D-don't cry into my lap! Stop!

Didn't know he was living down-country from me. Cool.

By the way, Thanks loads for the scanlation!

This makes me laugh so madly XD.
Poor Japan and crazy America, they are so adorable!!

ROFLMAO.
I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Especially that America must scare himself silly to prove that he is a hero. xDDD
Apparently America is scared of movies but not video games, ahahaha.

Also, Japan in a t-shirt is the cutest thing EVER.

A-america. Your last expression. Good god. XDDD

Thank you for scanlating!

Man! I wish I didn't suck so much in Siren! It's an awesome concept but I die so easily! I'm more of a Silent Hill kinda guy.

HEROES MUST FACE THEIR FEARS! But it's okay to do it with someone else at the same time... i-it's TEAMWORK. YEAH!!

Zombies rule in the states!

It's true, about the ghosts, has anyone here ever seen the show on discovery cahannel called "A Haunting"? It's about people who believe their houses are haunted and I watch it because it's hilarious! Also, the show on Sci-fi "Ghost-Hunters International" goes to show how far we'll go to see ghosts, people go to Europe all the time just to stay in haunted castles.

THANKS FOR THE SCANLATION!!!

[identity profile] lady-gyrfalcon.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, god, I know that one! XDD It's so bad; I can't fid into my head that it's serious (can people act so stupidly? I'd be out of those houses in a SHOT!), so I treat the whole thing like some ridiculous ghost story. I can't believe they show it on Discovery Science. O.o
Most Haunted (a UK based show) just takes the absolute biscuit in terms of hilarious fail. "Are there any spirit people present right now? Can you move something so we know you're there?" (Imagine all this in the voice of a fragile woman who's easily spooked! So bad! )

The author of Hetalia lives in the USA? Didn't know that! xD

Very cute, thanks for the scanlation!

[identity profile] beldarius.livejournal.com 2008-09-28 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Gahaha! XDXDXD Wow, poor Japan... now I think I know why he wrote "America is an idiot" in that notebook in one of the recent scanlations. XDDD

The Japanese sure know their way with horror... my friend made me watch "Grudge" once and I kept seeing nightmares for two months afterwards. ...But then again, "Eko Eko Azarak" was a snore for a horror movie (I liked Naozumi Takahashi when he turned evil. XD).

Thanks for the scanlation. XD
