I'm suprised that I haven't seen any fanart related with this event...

anyway I'll copy comment from DeviantArt becouse I'm lazy today XD
It's connected with Baltic Way event http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Way (please read in Wiki becouse writing discriptions with my English is not a good idea ).
Dedicated to my Lithuanian friend who sent me beautiful video about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLSvMas6ibo&feature=related that inspired me to create this drawing <3

I think I'm gonna show your drawing to my parents, in august 1989 we were living in Moscow (assisting to the fall of USSR), so maybe they will be able to talk to me about this event (and how it was received in Russia)

wow, what a lovely tribute to the event! (I didn't know about it before now, but goodness, why didn't someone do a fanart of that...?) Breathtaking.

it fits to Hetalia characters so well... lyrics are about sisters not brothers but it's lovely anyway:

*reads the comments* Your parents were in Solidarność? Can you tell more about that? My dad was a member as well, but he was around 17 during the matrial law time, I don't know what he did in '89 well, he probably was dating my mother, but it has nothing to do with the subject

Moi rodzice to absolwenci ASP, więc projektowali plakaty i grafiki, a w naszej piwnicy drukowano ulotki i podziemną gazetę :) Pozatym, że się narażali, mieli na głowie mojego straszego brata i mnie w wersji "upierdliwy niemowlak" <3
Mimo, że Wałęsa nie jest moim szczególnym ulubieńcem(bo czasem gada, jakby wszystko zrobił sam), też uważam, że pewnych rzeczy nie powinno się rozgrzebywac >>

There's something so amazing about nonviolent demonstrations like this. Earlier this week, I was about to cry in class while watching video of the Million Man March, and then last night I was tearing up from a protest video about proposition 8.

So yeah, beautiful art, beautiful video.
