TokyoPop Manga cover?

TokyoPop is giving away some 'samplers' away this summer and it appears Hetalia is one of them. They released this image which has the cover art on it. I'm guessing it's not final, but what do you guys think about it?

It's not too bad but it's no where near the beautiful cover that Japan has.

I like that cover better than the Japanese one. It's not as cluttered. (Of course, only half of it is visible right now.)

Not as flashy as the Japanese cover, but I'm not too bothered by it. As long as the internal contents are fine, I've no issue.

... Though the title font they used could've been a bit nicer.

It looks fairly similar to the Japanese one, so I'm fine with it. I had to go look up the Japanese one to see what the difference was 'cause I thought they were the same until I looked :P

It looks alright, at least it looks almost close to the original. The title font looks ugly, though.

I have a copy of the original manga, and suffice to say this looks a bit bland to be honest. xD;; I guess I'm just used to the lovely vibrant colours and cluttered-ness that I've come to associate with Hetalia.

OH WELL, might consider getting it so that I won't have to go squint-eyed whenever I encounter the kanji in the original Japanese version.

DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD INCLUDE COLOUR PAGES? That's what I really liked about the original versions. =d COLOUR.

I own the original as well and this was a bit of a let down. But compared to other original manga, Hetalia is really extravagant and large and colorful and... @w@ It's amazing.

I don't think it'll have color pages and if it does it'll only have like 1 or two. ;A;

Most of the flipped stuff is aimed at young children and released by VIZ. Vertical is releasing Chi's Sweet Home flipped, but they're a smaller publisher and attempting to broaden the audience. Vertical's sales are actually increasing and they bring over a lot of the unique niche titles, though, so it's forgivable.

Looks fine to me. Not as bright, true, but there's nothing /wrong/ with it, so I see no reason to get nit-picky.

People shouldn't be surprised. TP is notorious for changing cover designs. Yen Press, VIZ, and Del Rey are usually really good about it, but TP has a knack for changing at least the colors.

It's alright...But it really should be more colorful. It's way too white and boring. Hetalia isn't a serious series by any means. Though, there is a chance that, because it's just a sampler, it will be changed.

I really would have prefered if Yen Press got it. They have been including color pages in ALL of their recent releases. Their translations are iffy, but it looks fantastic. -shrug-

IT NEEDS MORE COLOUR!! TTATT That's just plain boring!! It needs more colour just like the Japanese version!! TTwTT They need to do something with the title too.

It looks okay to me. Then again, I don't really mind either way. The only change I'd like is the color of Italy from black to green. Maybe tweak the font a bit.

For the record, I honestly didn't think the Japanese one was cluttered. Artistic and vector-esque and technicolored? Yes. Cluttered? No.

But this is just....bland D: From what I can see, the characters don't even match the background at all..is this a failed attempt at making Hetalia look more masculine, or...?

Either way, my main concern is what's inside; however, if there's a way for us fans to leave them feedback, please, please tell me.

Well... it honestly isn't that bad. It's not eye-catching, but it's acceptable.

There's no shiny swirls :(
The Taiwanese edition has the shiny/colorful swirls and the full color first pages . . . I wonder if Tokyopop will put in the color pages or just make it black and white like they usually do.
