Summary: Made for Memorial Day...a little late. Fought with the composition for a while as well as the content (more characters were originally going to be included). Inspired in part by a community member in our area that was lost in Iraq this month.

I never used the dodge tool before, but I used it to clean up for the first time and thought "eh, let's test it". Still learning Photoshop and how to draw humans, technical critiques welcomed! Please no political comments!

Symbolism of the 'Gun and Boots' Memorial
Combat boots - The final march of the final battle
Inverted Rifle - A time for prayer as a break from action to pay tribute to comrades
Helmet/Dogtags - ID for the fallen soldier
Can also include the beret of a airborne unit which would signify their final jump.

My deepest regards for our fallen comrade. I hope our troops come home soon. Beautifully powerful drawing. It really catches the emotional aspect of a fallen soldier. May peace blanket the world in the near future, because that's the only way our troops will come home safely.

There's a lot to be done, but I hope the peace talks go well even if the news media hasn't been updating us much on what's going on over there, *sigh*. Thank for you much though! I'm glad I was able to capture the emotions I wanted to. :]
