You know you're obsessed with Hetalia when...

Erm...so yeah. Title says it all, really. I'm sorta new to the comm, but I haven't found one of these yet!

Anyway, you know you are obsessed with Hetalia when:

You see pasta with Roma tomatoes and automatically giggle and decide to eat it.
You imagine the nation-tans while watching sports. (In all honesty, it's the only reason I'm watching the World Cup...)
You laugh at geography.
You read about history and foreign relations for fun. (Did you know they have Nation A-Nation B relations articles on Wikipedia? These suddenly become much more interesting.)
World travel becomes much more amusing. ("Where're you going over the summer?" "Feliciano!" "What?" "(giggle)")
Whenever you can't remember a guy's name, you call him Matthew.
You try new foods just because they're mentioned in a Marukaite Chikyuu.
Speaking of MKC, it's stuck in your head all the time.

These are a few things that apply to me; I'm pretty sure you guys can think of better ones!

Wohohoho scary accurate!! I'm guilty of like all of those!!!
I myself have translated three of the MKC songs into singable versions in their respective languages...I can't sing though, which makes it a moot point >(

This.

And the history/foreign relations one isn't even Hetalia-specific; if I read up on Russian history, does that mean I'm obsessed with Hetalia? No, it just means I'm interested in Russian history.

My signs of obsession:
The Olympics and international sporting events are giggle worthy XD
Flags are sexy.
The History Channel becomes giggle worthy. (Before it was just interesting, I am such a geek.)
My European mutt heritage has become hilarious.
My knowledge of geography has greatly improved.

[identity profile] nasty-show.livejournal.com 2010-06-11 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Hetalia is the sole reason why i watched Eurovision! XD

I am proud to admit that I am obsessed. That's why I'm watching thw World Cup too. I tell my friends it's because "I'm a huge soccer fan, duh!" cuz they wouldn't understand. >.>

And about geography and history being more fun...well, let's just say thanks to Hetalia, I finally have an idea about what I want to major in. ;)

[identity profile] xxfurryfirefoxx.livejournal.com 2010-06-11 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I thought of one: >.>
-When you find out your friends' heritage, such as someone who's half Italian-half German, or half British-half French, you call them cannon.

[identity profile] qichi.livejournal.com 2010-06-11 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
World travel becomes much more amusing. ("Where're you going over the summer?" "Feliciano!" "What?" "(giggle)")

You might want to put that in a "you know you're obsessed with confusing and alienating people" list. :|a

THIS PAST CHRISTMAS, WHEN LOOKING AT ALL THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, WHEN I SAW ALL THE RED, WHITE, AND GREEN THINGS, ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT WAS ITALY. SERIOUSLY. CHRISTMAS IS NOW HETALIA FOR ME. 8I

[identity profile] lavjee.livejournal.com 2010-06-11 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Flags. So much the flags. I get distracted by seeing flags now ;w; I almost crashed my bicycle into cars / people / other stuff on multiple occasions because I was too distracted staring at a flag (... though I almost crash my bicycle all the time ;w;)

[identity profile] simplistic-star.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
That's just lolz. xD I like looking at what flags there are on buildings and stuff now though. Hahaha.

GASP!! *hides besides a rock*

You read about history and foreign relations for fun. (Did you know they have Nation A-Nation B relations articles on Wikipedia? These suddenly become much more interesting.)

GASPPP!!! *hides book from library*

World travel becomes much more amusing.

er.. wha...well.. *sweatdrops*

that's the ones that apply for me... also flags.. I particulary can't move my look from them and fangirls everytime I see USA and UK's flag together

[identity profile] lillypie528.livejournal.com 2010-06-11 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
*points to icon*

I appreciate different cultures more now~ And seeing certain flags side-by-side makes me giggle ;w;

well i've always loved history before i knew of hetalia... but hetalia made it better : D plus i loved soccer (( football )) and i play it so the world cup is a double win, hetalia and for the love of the sport

* history channel is the best : D

[identity profile] prussianegotist.livejournal.com 2010-06-11 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Not all of these are so bad but am I the only one who finds... referring to ACTUAL COUNTRIES by their Hetalia names a bit...

horribly...

sad................

But I am guilty of trying Bolognese by prompting of the theme song. It was delicious. Thank you Hetalia.

Trufax. I'd been wanting to visit western Europe for the last few years, but it wasn't until I started fangirling Hetalia hardcore that I actually got my shit together and made it happen.

You try new foods just because they're mentioned in a Marukaite Chikyuu.
Moar trufax. And I'll totally admit to skipping out on trying bolognese in the US and actually waiting until I got to Venice to get some.

The US v.s. Iggy match makes you think that whoever wins will be on top

that's unfair... you know... XD England is very good at soccer and soccer is almost the only sport that America hadn't been very good at XD (not currently talking though) I remember we always joke about that... oh god America XD

However I'll be happy to watch their game! but it will be hard for me to support one or the other *not british nor American*

[identity profile] mad-kitty12.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
You laugh at geography.
This applied to me a lot. Sadly it was my last year of school, now I'll only study any hetalia-related subjects (geography and history) next year.
You read about history and foreign relations for fun.
Not just because of Hetalia. But it helped a lot ;)
AND IT'S BECAUSE OF HETALIA THAT I HAVE A METALLIC BOX WITH A WORLD MAP YES
Another one:
-You not only listen to MKC, you've alredy tried to sing your own MKC.
(not me, but my friend is trying xD)

[identity profile] creation48.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
*A bit ashamed* When I went to Germany last month and I slid in my hotel bed, I has this spontaneous thought: 'I understand why Italy always sneak in Germany's bed; it's so comfy!"

[identity profile] mykonos2.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
Awwwww <3

[identity profile] seshru2.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
-You try catching Italians using pasta as bait
-You doodle Hetalia characters on your notebook
-You think of Shinatty whenever you see Hello Kitty
-You match up your friends according to their nationality
-You feel happy/funny/warm whenever your favorite character's mentioned by non Hetalia fans
-You try to talk like Hetalia characters
-When you see Vodka bottles or water faucet, you think of Russia
-You call winter General Winter
-You've read Wikipedia articles about people or historical events you first learned from Hetalia
-You've searched through Pixiv pages for fanarts of your favorite character or pairing
-You've converted one or more of your friends to be Hetalia fans
-Your parents hum Marukaite Chikyuu sometimes, due to you playing it too much
-You well 'VODKAAAA' when you're skydiving

[identity profile] naita-chan.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah... thats why I'm so excited for the World Cup :D
I'm all like, "Lets see what nation wins over the other~!"

I pretty much apply to all of these.
I even expect my friend to come back like Italy (shes there right now) and act like Italy because of what happened to Japan xD

[identity profile] noisysqualo.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
You laugh at geography.
Why? I don't understand this..

You read about history and foreign relations for fun.
Sometimes, cos I want to find out what actually happen...But I'm not a History person I failed it last time and hence never chose that subject and gets bored easily *runs*

But after watching Hetalia I finally can remember several flags of the world!

[identity profile] kumikosawada.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
It's really sad when you can say yes to almost all of those. I already liked geography and history so now it's like an added bonus. My shower curtain is a world map and I have spent more minutes under the water just looking at the countries, imagining the characters and laughing to myself while listening to the character songs on my ipod. Plus the other day I bought roma tomatoes purely because they were roma ones.
