Discussion time!

So...I work at a restaurant with an adjoining bar.  I don't drink at all, so when customers ask for something from the bar, I'll have no idea if we have it serve it or not because I don't know what it is.

So that got me thinking, if our Nations were to walk into a bar, what would they order?

My guess is America's drink is Jack and Coke.  Or a Bud.  Maybe Miller.

So how about for the rest of the world? ^_^

The Germanic nations just. want. BEER.

In England it would be ale...beer...lager...wine...cider...whiskey.........
the list goes on! XD Actually, a very english drink would be a pint of John Smith's.

I have no clue, I don't drink beer and I'm not allowed to drink it until I'm 1918.

I actually find it hilarious that America can't drink in his own country. I don't think Latvia and Poland can either, and possibly Estonia. XD

Anyway, France and the Italies would have wine. The kind that's been sitting around for at least a century. Don't even consider it otherwise.

LOL I'm of german heritage and I'm not a huge fan of beer. Though I'm irish as well and love whiskey

Easy! We mostly drink light beer! XD

England would just drink whatever you put in front of him. I expect he'd knock back a few shots first and then start on the beers...and not stop until he fell down. Since we apparently have an unhealthy 'drink solely to get drunk' attitude over here, it doesn't matter much what we drink.
And it's what I do, but please don't try it at home

Russia's is... kinda obvious- they do drink alot of straight Vodka, though they have quite strong stouts as well, and Brandy now I think on it...

But vodka is cheap (especially in Russia) so it's the staple I guess

Japan would want sake.

[identity profile] frostyfaucet.livejournal.com 2010-06-11 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
... /shame at the fact of similar drinking habits, just with Vodka

England, in my head, likes Scottish or Irish whisky (expensive ones that are very old) such as Aardbeg, Laphroaig or Glenmorangie as well as the smaller distilleries in the Scottish Islands. He's also very fond of his beer from independent breweries, such as Bishop's Finger, Flanker's Tackle, all the real ales. And he's inordinately proud of the growing trade in British wines because it allows him to give France the finger.

Is Becks a light beer? I can never remember and I'm not the heaviest beer drinker in the world...

Because I can imagine Germany drinking Becks for some reason

One thing from my Italian phrasebook that cracked me up was "Corrected coffee," which is espresso and a shot. I just had to walk into a cafe and order some ("Corrected with what?" "Uhhhhhhhh... *shrug*" "Bailys?" "Sure.").

Well, at least he's following the "liquor before beer" rule?

We do that in America, too, depending on what part of the country you're in. Look for the states with the strictest liquor laws and you'll find the biggest drinkers.

Depends. It's mostly light beer, but in some parts of the East and around Düsseldorf you drink dark beer.

Hmm, good question... I have to admit I don't drink beer, but when you take a look around, I guess it depends where you're from.
Where I'm from they drink "Radeberger", 'cause it's produced right next to us! XD

Russia looks kind of like a beer in that picture.

It's 8:30 in the morning here, but there's such a thing as breakfast beer, right?

Germany would drink beer. I don't think he'd drink Bavarian beer like Weizen or other specific beer but simply pilsner, like Jever (bitter >___<), Becks, Veltins...

Belgium would drink beer as well I think.
