Most and Last Favorite Character CD?

As China's full versions of character songs are out now, it means that all the main characters (Axis and Allies) has had all their own CDs released -well, I doubt that we should wait for Canada since he didn't even get his MKC D:- I want to ask you some questions

1. Which character CD is your most favorite? Why?
2. Last favorite? (It would be nice if you could put them into a list)
3. Eh... what do you think of foreign languages  they used in the song? How is the spelling, grammar, etc they used on the song? Which CD is the best in this aspect? -you should exclude Japan XD- (not to offend anyone, but I wouldn't ever say America. I don't even know that he sang in English. Kaida Yuki's chinese is... well.. sounded more like Hongkong/Taiwanese Chinese IMO.

1. That's diffucult, I like them all for different reasons. But my ipod says It's England's I like America's because...HAY YOU GUISE *goofy laugh* always makes me grin like nutter on the bus when my ipod's playing. Germany's is just so...so...epic. Russia's is just rape in MP3 format. I haven't gave China's a good listen to yet.
2. joint with Japan and France's. They weren't bad or awful, I just find the other songs more earwormy
3. AMERICA'S ENGLISH WAS BEAUTIFUL.

I'm not sure. I really like all of the CDs, but I guess if I had to narrow it down, it would be between England's, America's, China's, and France's.

Actually, probably France's. I've listening to Paris is Indeed Splendid and Embrace the Tres Bien Moi the most out of almost all of the other songs...O_o

Drat. Forgot the rest.

[identity profile] nupinoop296.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Least favorite? Japan's. I liked it, but not as much as the others...

XD I actually liked America's English. It was awesome! I couldn't really tell when France was speaking French, but I caught pretty much all of Germany's German. <333

[identity profile] radittz.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
1. China's for pretty voice and music, Russia's for being in character, England's becouse I love his seiyuu :P
2. America's - for bad music and only silly lyrics, France's for being boring
3. In general I like it, Engrish is cute. It's not a song from character CD but I was very happy to listen some broken Polish words in MKC, it's nice to see that authors of those songs care about character's nationality ;)

[identity profile] creation48.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
My favorite is Germany's, without any hesitation ( Einzamkeit is so beautiful, even if I'm not sure who he is talking about 'since you are here, I can exist')
My second fave is Italy (both: one is cute and refreshing, the other is just awesome)
third would be France, because of the rhythm.

Least favorite is Japan: It was not catching enough for me to even remember it.

[identity profile] awww-applesauce.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
I love all the CDs EXCEPT AMERICAS D8 WHY?! JUST WHY?! His lyrics were 100% silly. D: And all the other characters got a serious song then a goofy silly song. both of his were goofy/silly. Plus just why, RAP?! no. There are OTHER TYPES of music in America. Why not some Rock? HELL Jazz or Country would of worked too!

I can't even listen to America's songs because of all the Engrish. It's so awful!
I'm pretty neutral about the rest though. Some I like more than others, some I dislike more than others, but I don't really love any character songs except Buono Tomato and Pub and Go.

[identity profile] liete.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
1. My favorite is England's, although my favorite song is "Paris Is Indeed Splendid" from France's, ha ha. orz

2. My least favorite is probably America's. I love the character dearly, but he...can't sing. I cringe at how off-key he sounds. orz

3. I think it's cute? Even when it's terrible. :>

My copy of China's CD has yet to arrive, but...
  1. Oddly enough, France's is my definite favourite, followed closely by China's, then Russia's, then Germany's. Even if the words are sometimes silly, I really get a sense that "pride" is being conveyed by the songs for France, China, and Germany. And ЗИМа qualifies as Crowning Music Of Awesome (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/SugarWiki/CrowningMusicOfAwesome).
  2. America's songs really didn't suit Konitan's voice at all, so his CD is my least favourite. I don't really listen to England's very much either.
  3. The English in America's songs is...embarrassingly appropriate, if not actually good. England's English is just meh. I think the German is (probably?) good, though.
Still waiting for a Lithuania CD lol

[identity profile] vale-puella.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
1. CHINA'S. *A* Russia's second, and then England, Japan, Germany, and Italy all on sort of a third tier.
2. America's and France's. America's is just hard for me to listen to, imho. France's is good for his personality, but that's never been my style, so. XD Also, England and Italy wound up on the third tier because they had one VERY strong song but not the other; Japan and Germany are there because I like both of their songs, but I like China's and Russia's more. /is being waaay too scientific D:
3. Well, I can only comment on English and German, since the other languages I know are not on the CDs. I have to say, Germany's pronunciation is actually somewhat good, considering that German and Japanese are NOTHING alike. Certainly not perfect, but it also could have been a lot worse. It IS kinda funny listening to him trying NOT to say "und-u"... and doing it anyway. XD Prussia's German is... painful. I like the song because it's funny, but the German hurts me a little inside. England's English is just hilariously bad. It took me a loooong time to figure out that he was ever speaking in English. And America's English is... just... ahahaha >.> So yeah, of the ones I know, I would say Germany.

Alright, I'm gonna put these in a list. From most favorite to least favorite.

1. France
2. China
3. England
4. Italy
5. America
6. Japan
7. Germany
8. Russia

And for your questions,
1. As beautiful as China's songs are, I adore France's CD. Completely. The music is so my style, and I still think that France's VA has the nicest singing voice. I think his songs are fun and pleasing all around. China's comes a really close second, though, his songs are amazing and I love his VA. England's and Italy's are really close to each other, England's only beats Italy's by a margin.

2. Russia's. Russia, Russia, Russia. And I hate putting Russia at the bottom, but I have to. His CD really disappointed me--I didn't like Winter at all except for like 2 parts of the song (one in the middle and at the end), and for the fact that it's perhaps the only truly serious character song. Pechka is fun and I like it better, but it just doesn't stick with me. Germany's are nice, but I get bored of them a bit quickly.. And as beautiful as the music in Japan's are, his VA's voice just kind of puts me to sleep.

3. I actually love that they included bits of their languages in their songs. I mean, it kind of seems to me like that's what they should be doing, right? In fact, some songs I was disappointed with because they didn't include enough of the character's language in it (Italy's, for example). Of course they're not gonna pronounce it all correctly and they're gonna get some things wrong, these aren't their native languages. I just love that they try, that they put effort into it. In my eyes, it's a great compliment to the nations/languages.

Wow this turned out longer than I planned OTL

2. America's. It makes my ears bleed.
3. No idea.

1. The Russia's one, because I really love how sang the seiyuu, very talented, great he can play with the voice ^_^
2. Mhhh.. Until now, the America's one... I found it bored :| sorry ^^U
3. I think they sound... Funny xDDD, I think the Italian one sounds really well ^^.

[identity profile] lizzlybonk.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
1. England. Pub and Go never fails to make me laugh (AHAHAHAHA~), and the way he sounds drunker and drunker as the song goes on? Win. My country is so awesome. Musically however, I like Russia's first song and both Germany's.
2. I don't like America's all that much. But they're so funny.
3. America was singing in English? ...O_o. Germany's German sounds pretty good. I've not a native speaker mind, but I could understand it better than some of the exam tapes. *fails*

...poor Canada. I'd've loved it if he got a MKC.

Russia's is my favorite! >W< Ahhh, I looove his character songs! "Winter" is beautiful and the lyrics are so sad and serious, and "Pechka~ Light My Heart" is like, my favorite character song so far! <3 <3 It's just so upbeat and adorable! >w<

I have no least favorite character songs, actually....every character sings good to me. And their use of foriegn language (minus Nihon) is cool. ^^

[identity profile] leriacossato.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
My favourite CD is probably Germany's. I just... love the emotion in both songs. I also love England's. Pub and GO! FTW.

My least favourite is America's. I'm sorry, America. I love you dearly, but your songs were just silly. DX

As for the different languages...

To me, France's french sounded pretty decent, and Germany had really quite good German pronunciation.

[identity profile] powderthefox.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah I was really quite pleased with Germany's pronunciation too.

As for France's French though, I couldn't even tell it was French until I saw the lyrics lmao. But once I realized what he was saying, I have to say, I think he pulled it off really well, with all things considered. I don't think any other VA could've done a better job.

[identity profile] mecchayumyum.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
1.Which character CD is your most favorite? Why?
For e it's totally got to be England's. It's the one I liked the most songs from and it had Pub and Go seriously that song's about as infectious as ebola.

2. Less favorite? (It would be nice if you could put them into a list)
America's. God that voice akes e want to hurt people.

3. Eh... what do you think of foreign languages they used in the song? How is the spelling, grammar, etc they used on the song? Which CD is the best in this aspect?
... Ameria's English was.. have you ever seen Lost in Translation where the lady was like "Lip my stocking." yeah it was like that.

1) Kind of hard since I like them all (except for America's) but on every one of the characters' cds there's always one track I really really like. Out of all my favourites I'd rank from Zima > Aiyah 4000 years > Tres Bien na Ore ni Dakare > Pub tte Go = Hi no Izuru Kuni Jipangu > Einsamkeit > Oishii Tomato no Uta.

2) America's. They really botched his up, it's hard to enjoy it if he's not one of your favourite characters.

3) I don't speak a speck of Russian/Italian/German so I can't tell for those and I can't say anything until I've looked at the lyric scans for China's. But I can tell you the grammar should be ignored, they aren't going for grammatical but just trying to fit foreign words into Japanese... As for pronunciation: I speak Cantonese so my Mandarin ear is not so great XD, but I can hear Kaida Yuki is getting the pitches fine, Onosaka's French is Japanized, Sugiyama's English is Engrish, same for America but more obnoxious, Takato's Russian sounds Japanized as well but it sounds like he tried his best, Yasumoto sounds like he put in good effort (I noted that his zwei was actually zwei and not zu-vai :P), and Namikawa's Italian is passable(but considering the phonetic similarities between Italian and Japanese it's easier for him) only I wish he rolled those "r"s.

[identity profile] gngstermoney32.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
1. England and Russia's are my favorites. The best singers and the best overall composition of the songs.
2. America's is so bad. It gives me a freaking headache and as a side effect I can never think about hamburgers without his voice in my head screeching "HAMBURGAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
3. I don't speak Chinese but I really liked the way they intergrated it into the song.
AND of course the best ENGRISH
"FISH ADO CHIIPS"

[identity profile] iroh-fancier.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Let's see.

1. Russia's! Hands down. (Though America's was very cute, too). I liked the fact that he got a serious, melancholy song that didn't have lyrics about, well, potatoes and wurst like "Einsamkeit" did (as lovely as that song is, the lyrics are rather silly). And "Pechka" also has a very lonely feel to it, even if it has that chirpy little flute. The G8 drama was funny, and overall it was just a well-rounded and surprising CD.
2. Sorry, France. None of your songs really impressed me that much :(.
3. Since I can only really say anything about English and Spanish (and dear Antonio hasn't had a character CD yet), I'll just say that the English in America and England's CDs sounded fine to me.

[identity profile] valeriehearts.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Favorite: Rusia's "Winter" is just so... I have no word for it.. I get an orgasm everytime I listen to it. But I like all of them, I can listen to any of them as many times as the shuffle option puts it to play<3

Least: Japan. It's traditional but, that's it. At the beginning I get the feeling I'm listening to Gackt's new single or something like that...

Language: They all are great! I like best Italy Brother's, because they sound so natural and italian. Hiroki Yasumoto-san has that special ring that makes him so germanish when speaking, I love it when he says Eisemkait! (Still Prussia's a lot more because he sounds just as German as West, but his phrases are longer and more german-like), France's french... is not right xD but I still love it (when he says 'Bonjour, je m'appelle France' I SWEAR I first understood 'Konichiwa, je m'appelle France'.. and I can still listen to him say that). England... well, Noriaki-san gives it his best but his words still come out WAY to stretched.. maybe he was trying to catch the British accent (?). Russia is awesome-- though I don't know any russian, he sticks to the basic sound of letter and that he does well! China is awesome *-*. America.. well, most japanese people have that kind of pronunciation problem, no? I still liked it (Going my way, way way, way :D)

[identity profile] iroh-fancier.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
:O... am I the only one who really enjoyed WDC and Hamburger St. AND America's MKC? :(

[identity profile] kazenblown.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I kind like WDC's beat, but it takes me soooooooolong to realize that's English = =
And I like Japan and China's song on avg, but I am brainwashed by tomatoes as well....

[identity profile] kazenblown.livejournal.com 2010-03-22 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Forget to mention about least favorite...If there is a character CD, I would say Prussia. I can't even try to finish listening for once, heave metal is just not my type...I don't like North Italy too much either, not because it wasn't nice, but I feel I am listening to a Jpop by a girl group. I know that's wired, but the melody really gave me that impression.

[identity profile] momo36.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
1. Japan, closely followed by Russia. Because Takahashi's voice is what got me into the fandom and omg, he sounds just plain amazing. His voice. Unf. "Excuse me, I am sorry" is such a catchy song and I absolutely love it.

2. But I love all of them D8... er America, I guess? The songs are catchy and all, but they seem weaker compared to others's awesomeness.
So my list goes like this.
1. Japan
2. Russia
3. France
4. Germany
5. England
6. Italy
7. China (I just heard the songs moments ago and I'm sure they will grow on me, but right now it's here. But who knows, we still haven't heard the drama track.)
8. America

3. Er, I only speak English and Japanese so idk, I thought the Engrish in America's was pretty hilarious (and intentional).

[identity profile] starlacyi.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
1. I'm in love with China's songs ;w; Especially that second one. The music is just....well the closest thing to what I grew up listening to so....lol;;
But I do love all of them. I actually caught myself humming Absolute British Gentleman in school one day OTL;

2. Not sure about least favorite...uum...haha;;

3. I think it's really cool to hear different languages in the songs~ Even though they're not 100% accurate sometimes, it's a great effort <3
