1)It's valentine today *Sigh*
Makes me a bit sad...
It seems that Himaruya has no intention to give us a sequel of the now old 'Buen san valentino comic' 
What do you think? Could we ask him for it? Or did someone already ask?

Tell me what you think! 

2)Also, I'm suffering from a lack of both official and non-official Germany/Italy these times.
I was wondering why this pairing is not very popular.

( I lauch that discussion merely because I just love to read peoples' opinions on these two ^^)

Don't bother Himaruya. It's his comic, if he decides to not do a sequel for a strip he did, that's his business.

I think... I'd rather leave it ambiguous, because what if the sequel deflected the HRE = Germany theory? I'd rather not know. @__@

I really don't know why Gertalia's not that popular, but I personally think there are a lot of writers that do write it, so I'm pretty okay with that. :)

I don't think it's not so much that the pairing isn't popular as other pairings are more popular--pixiv is practically updated daily on Germany/N. Italy fanart. Of course, I am horribly biased and probably am not a good judge of these things >.> *loves the pairing to bits*

Well, Hidekaz did promise he'd give Italy and HRE a happy ending, so in my eyes, that translates as: "Someday, I will finalize Italy and Germany's relationship." I mean, I know it hasn't been officially stated that Ludwig is HRE (I'm assuming this will be the biggest mystery in the series, for the most part), but I just can't see any other happy ending for Italy's love life unless Hidekaz reveals that HRE didn't "die" and was only gone for a LONG time and in the end, returns to Italy's side. Seriously, if that happened, I'd be... flabbergasted, to be perfectly frank. ^^;; That would lead to WAY too many unanswered questions.

Okay, that's my opinion on the official side of their relationship.

As for asking for a continuation of the san valetino comic, I'm not holding my breathe. The ending was rather awkward and I don't know if Ludwig would have the balls to go through all that again. XD; And the book he read was very outdated, so I'm sure he'd do a lot more research on modern courtship before attempting any kind of romantic relationship with Feli. He also needs to sort out his feelings first. ^^ Poor guy is so confused.

You can ask Hidekaz for a continuation, but don't expect anything. I can only imagine how busy his life is right now. Plus I'm sure he has somewhat of a timeline in mind for Hetalia. So we should sit back and enjoy the flow. :)

I'm also itching for more Gertalia. It's a VERY popular coupling. Trust me. There just aren't a lot of fics and whatnor postedf in the community. Why, I'll never know. But they get kinda overshadowed by the more popular pairings. :/

Maybe USUK has a lot of the blame for this xDDD Or any pairing that has Russia, America or England.

Everyday there's like.... five new fanarts, ten new fics and a couple of doujins with USUK..... Quite honestly it IS a bit tiring.. At least for us fans who enjoy the other, less popular pairings. I haven't found ONE decent China doujin. Not ONE.

USUK definitely seems to be the most popular pairing. I'm a big fan myself, so I can't say I don't enjoy all of the attention it's getting. ^^;

It's sad the others don't get as much attention, but in the end, it's really up to the fans with regard to character popularity. I do hope you find a decent China doujin someday. :)

Gertalia is honestly one of my favorite pairings of all time.

And I, too, hope for a resolution to Buon San Valentino some day, either directly or indirectly.

I'm curious, when you say you want a resolution to those strips, did you feel in some way that it was "incomplete"? I mean, I get that we'd like to see Italy give a definite answer to Ludwig's proposal, but to me, it seems like that strip was just for laughs (if not only to catch a glimpse of how Ludwig feels towards Feli).

Though I admit, I'd like to see someone do a fanart of a continuation. :D That would be awesome.

So after reading your post, I went to check the Gertalia index for the kink meme, to see it they had some GerIta and I found this site:

Try shipping something that is lucky to get an update on its pixiv tag once a week, has barely any doujinshi, even less of which is R-18, doesn't attract many fic writers either, and is outnumbered in all forms of fanworks by a rival pair, despite the pair that you ship being canon. And honestly even that is better than the situation that a lot of ships in this fandom are in. GerIta is one of the fortunate pairings that has pretty wide appeal.

It is true that GerIta used to be a lot more popular than it is now, though. The odd thing about this fandom is that, before Buon San Valentino happened, GerIta was really popular and a lot of fans adored it and wanted them to get their happy ending in canon. However, once Buon San Valentino happened, a lot of them lost interest, BECAUSE it was so close to being canon at that point. I don't get it. But yeah, GerIta is still really popular.

Yea the more canon a pairing is in a series the less appeal the fans have. Which I see a lot in fandoms during my years. Fans want subtexts like UsxUk (in which I just them as a father son relationship more then anything)

But pixiv does have a lot of GerIta.

I am surprised that Austria/Hungary is so unpopular, though! But which would you say overshadows it more-- Prussia/Hungary or Prussia/Austria?

1) Probably not this year... Himaruya seems busy working on Hetalia Volume 3. But I'm hoping he will give Germany and Italy a happy ending some day. I will cry with joy when that happens. I love this pairing to bits.
2) Try Pixiv tag お花夫婦 for Germany/Italy, and 初恋組 for HRE/Chibitalia. As of now, I'm seeing a lot of Valentine's day related fanarts!

GerIta might not be as popular as USUK or FrUK or whatever, but I think it still has a lot of dedicated fans :3

Like others have said, I wouldn't bother him for a continuation(I think it's fine as it is anyway). Frankly it's a bit rude to expect him to come up with one just because Valentines has rolled around again(like some others have complained that certain countries' birthdays were not "acknowledged" by Himaruya). It's his call whether he's up to it or not, Hetalia for him was originally supposed to be a fun side project, not an obligation.

It kinda struck me Hidekaz couldn't hint of Gemany and Italy's relationship in recent times (I think the last time Germany and Italy were together was when they were Santas last year).

I think filling in the gaps is up for the fans IMHO.

I'm not really eager to see how the buen san valentino ended. I am curious what happened to Prussia's dating book though.

Really? I was under the impression that it was the single most popular pairing in the fandom. If anything were a cause for a lack of fanworks, I'd say that it has something to do with people just NOT writing/drawing them even though they like them. *shrugs* But I see a LOT of Gertalia stuff.

I agree with berlinblue. If Himaruya wants to do a sequel, he'll do a sequel. It's his comic. :U

A lot of people do in fact love the crap out of GermanyxItaly, but it seems that writers/artists don't feel like doing much for the pairing, which is understandable. Although I'd like to see more of the couple myself, I actually enjoy the fact that it's not overwhelmed with a bajillion doujins, fanfics and fanart because it'd get really bothersome.
Germancest and USxUK for example. I see a shitload of stuff from those pairings every damn day and it gets really annoying.

So don't worry about there not being much stuff for GerIta. I just pretty much read all the fanfics I can find (because everyone knows that GerIta fics are the cutest out of all other Hetalia pairing fics hee hee) and then just check out stuff on Pixiv and deviantart.

Trust me, it's better that the pairing is this way.

You know, O_o I never did mind the fact that I see a lot of fics/pics/etc for those pairings you mentioned. To me, it just means I get to have a lot of stuff to read and choose from considering my picky self, /giggles/ .

And I gotta agree, GerIta fics are so adorable and cute. *_____* =w=
