[ Cosplay ] Female!America
I just finished my America cosplay. In the beginning I was appointed to be the America in our group without even seeing the anime. My friends all said we were nearly twins. Which after seeing the anime I'd have to say they were right. Loud, proud, blond hair, blue eyes. We're both even born on July 4th!
But going to cons and seeing at least 50 Hetalia cosplayers (and we go to pretty small cons) I wanted to do something a little different with my cosplay.

Yep! Female!America. I didn't want to be known as "one of the ten Americas" but rather as "oh you were the female America!"

As a side note I just got America's character CD off Yahoo!Japan. I'm excited to get it in the mail :D

What do you do for your hair? I still can't decide what to do for that.
Buckle your seat belt, this is a long one.
Somethings to keep in mind are 1) you have a lot more hair than I do and 2)I tried (key word is tried OTL) to base my hair style on Himuraya's Nyotalia drawing (http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll304/erinrinrin/hetalia/nyota.jpg), so I had a very clear "hair goal" in mind. I'm gonna say straight up the easiest thing overall would be to buy a wig. Either buy a long one and cut it if you know how or buy a chin length one.
However, the first time I was Fem!America for Hetalia Day and I did did my hair in a low side pony tail. For Nantucket my friend slicked some pieces of my hair with Got2b hair spiking glue, wrapped it around a clean, empty applesauce cup to maintain the shape, pinned the cup on my head for the pieces to dry, and then removed the cup and pinned the end of the pieces to my head once the spiking glue had dried.

Initially, my friend was going to curl my hair but we soon found out my hair wouldn't curl with the curling iron I had brought. XD lol So I put it in a low side pony tail and she tried to curl the ends. Not much more successful, as you can see from the pictures but I wasn't displeased with the overall look. ^_^
The second time was at Ikkicon (Jan 1-3) and I had a wig. I bought a medium length wig and another friend cut, styled, and made a Nantucket for me (Fffff I sound so dependent T_T I have such great friends). This is the result:

And by styled I mean we tried to curl the ends but the wig was even more resilient than my hair. XD Eventually I said "To hell with it, I think this looks grand!"
I will say I was originally going to wear my hair in low pictails for Hetalia Day. As you can see I decided not to, but it's a possible style. I don't want to divert or discourage but I also agree with
e_e I hope this was helpful. I feel like I was just talking about my hair experience for Fem!America instead of coming up with styles. It doesn't really help I've only worked with my own hair and am a master of beating around the bush. XD
