hetalia | icons & official strip

Hello, I'm a Hetalian hailing from Japan, just come across this wonderful forum.

I was surprised to see that all you foreign Hetalian's help each other by scanlating Himaruya's strips.

And I thought I would put some comment about this
"Poland / Lithuania Checkmates".

I noticed some lines were paraphrased, so I thought I would put some "direct translations" for your ref.

(1) The first line by Lithuania.
Direct translation is,
"You Pole put too much emphasis on attacks and that's why you always lose."

(2) The second line by Lithuania (with a wink!).
Direct translation is,
"I never lose in this kind of intellect battle."

Don't you think Lit's second line is cute? :)

Oh yes, I thought interesting that Lithuania is called Liet by foreign Hetalian's, for in Japan he is called "Lit" or "Lito", including Himaruya himself (Notice his last line. Originally he says "Lito").
I'm not blaming about "Liet", just thought it was interesting. :)

And about the conversation between the two

Lithuania: How about this?

And normally we don't find too much trouble in reading Himaruya's handscripts. So if anyone can find some difficulty, I'd be glad to help. But I cannot always WATCH this forum. It's not a good idea to expose my personal e-mail address.

As for your problem, Livejournal has a private messaging system between registered users (see "Messages" in the header). You don't have to worry about checking your account all the time either, because you can set it up so that Livejournal will notify you by e-mail when you get a new message. That should be all right for you?

It looks like the person above already answered your question! Just click here (http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?cat=notifications) and check the first box next to "Someone sends me a message" - that option will notify you by email whenever someone sends you a private message via Livejournal. I hope that solves your problem. I'll let you know if I encounter any difficulty with reading Himaruya's handwriting in the future.

I found that tidbit about Lithuania's nickname interesting, too. When scanlations for Hetalia were first posted in this community, someone decided to translate his nickname to Liet, so most of the English-speaking community calls him that. However, the pronunciation of his nickname remains the same; "Liet" is still read as 「リト」.

BTW, I was pleasantly surprised that you can post Japanese Katakana on the net, for I know it will surely be jargoned in one-byte environment.
Do you install two-byte (Japanese) dictionaries for Hetalia and all other Japanese manga's? Tears!!
