Between The Meetings

G'Morning, Community!

Time for another head-canon based question for everyone to ponder about today! We all know that the Nations can't be holed up in meetings all of the time - so what do you think that they do during those precious moments of free-time (that are probably becoming rather rare, considering the state of the world today)?

Personally, this is what I think:

England: When not visiting America, he plays rugby or football with the rest of the United Kingdom and would play cricket if Australia wasn't such a jerk about winning all of the time. He also isn't allowed to skateboard anymore - Sealand has spoken. He probably listens to music at his house - a lot of the old punk music that he quickly switches over to something more "expected" whenever guests arrive. When America visits, he spends his time trying to chase down a good remedy for a headache and trying to teach the git how to correctly drive and explain why stick-shift is better than automatic any old day.

America: Plays Halo or some other game where he can shoot things with Tony - sometimes Japan comes over with some new prototype game module and lets America test it out (so long as he promises to not get Tony to build an exact replica and sell it before he does). When Canada visits, especially in the winter, they build snow-forts and go cross-country skiing. I think he also owns a couple of dogs and spends his time going to parks to play with them - especially when England's around because it's funny to see him try and control them because he's just so awkward and you really can't get Pirate! with children around.

Canada: Does all kinds of outdoorsy stuff - like hiking, biking, climbing and hunting - he's been doing this a lot lately, since Parliament hasn't been called into session. Of course, he's attending the rally to get them back in gear - there's only so many times you can venture out into the Canadian Rockies before enough is enough. I also think he likes to secretly dress Kumajirou up in clothes.

France: Goes to other countries to try and pick up chicks - because who can resist a French accent, non?

Germany: Walks his dogs and goes out to get resumes for Prussia so he can get off of his couch and get a place of his own.

S. Italy: Spends his time fighting with stupid tourists and complaining about Spain to anyone within earshot. He also spends all of his time complaining about the government and how stupid his brother is for hanging around the Potato Bastard.

Spain: Sleeps.

N. Italy: Helps Germany walk his dogs - and by that I mean holds the leash and forgets to hold them back whenever a squirrel runs by and thus ends up being dragged around various parks in Berlin. That, or he spends his time cooking.

Japan: Goes to those Cosplay cafes and reads doujin all day while uploading fanart to DeviantArt or NicoNico

Whaddya all think?

Both N. and S. Italy spend evenings watching football matches on tv. :) Being fan of different teams, the brothers will probably be arguing a lot. XD

"...because who can resist a French accent, non?"

....the English? :)

[identity profile] seiichirou-uta.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
And I!
I don't like the French language at all. *drop*
But according to a test I'm 90% British, so... haha. XD

Germany will not just walk his dogs but likes hiking in general, in the evening he likes going to pubs, having a beer or two. In winter he visits Austria and they'll go skiing. Also he enjoys cooking and eating.

[identity profile] ghrelin.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
german >>> french <3

South Korea dances to idol group's dances

especially SNSD's songs and Wonder Girls' |D;.

[identity profile] jetlagged.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL OMG why can I actually see this?! Hahahaha :'D ♥

[identity profile] kitsunemischief.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes! He so does that! Actually I remember there was a video on Youtube of the Asians dancing to Nobody...

[identity profile] inner-wings.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
America loves video games and has a ridiculous collection. Sometimes Japan will come over (or he'll go to Japan's house) and they'll play whatever the newest popular thing is. They're actually pretty closely tied in video game skill (though America is typically better at shoot-em-up's and sports games, while Japan is better at strategy and RPGs.) Occasionally Russia will come over with Tetris, because it's the only video game he can absolutely kill them both at (and he takes great pleasure in doing so.)

Both America and Canada love to fish. Sometimes when they want some brother/brother time, they'll spend the whole day fishing and then eat what they catch for dinner.

North Italy cooks, and spends a lot of time experimenting with new recipes. If anyone is around, he'll call them over to try his new creations, but if not he'll find some cute girls off the street and flirt them into his house for the best meal of their lives. Eating alone is no fun to him.

Cuba likes swimming, snorkeling, scuba, etc. The Caribbean is beautiful, and being underwater calms him down.

When he's got the time and money to spare, Russia goes to the ballet. He can dance a little himself and has tossed around the idea of getting more formal lessons, but keeps backing out. Just a spectator for now.

[identity profile] parallelothingy.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh God, I just got an image of Russia lumbering around in a tutu, towering over all the other dancers...XD

[identity profile] 43loves.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
oh tetris ~ and russia~

this idea of yours is sweeeet~

[identity profile] seiichirou-uta.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, I like the idea of Ivan playing Tetris, too. For him the following quote fits:
"I've got ten voices in my head. Nine tell me I'm not crazy. The other sings the melody of Tetris."

[identity profile] hirra-chan.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Seconded the Tetris like woah.

Also, for some reason, I think Ivan plays like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwC544Z37qo&feature=related

[identity profile] iamelegentmess.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Lithuania - plays basketball, sometimes with America

Germany - I'm sorry, but I really think he goes to a nudist colony or something (Prussia too). When I went to Germany, I encountered two, my dad three. This was my mum's face ' :O '.

S. and N. Italy: siestas, painting (though Romano is jealous of Veneciano sometimes), growing their own veggies

Spain: growing his tomatoes, going dancing

France: My headcanon says he likes walking a lot. Tends to his vineyards, wine tasting, baking bread, cooking in general.

England: He's gotta have his tea. I remember reading somewhere 1/3 of British people answer the phone in the nude... thus, he walks around his house nude 1/3 of the time. Agree with sports like rugby and cricket (lol Ashes)

Greece: ...napping. Playing with his cats, digging up his 'backyard', maybe delves into Greek mythology every once in a while.

America: I agree with the video games. Surfing the net, I do think he plays sports.

Japan: agree with the otaku stuff, spices it up with yaoi and yuri, adds fuel to shipping wars now and then (you know he would). Plays with Pochi-kun. Baseball?

Netherlands: going around the city on his bike (Amsterdam had the most bikes I've seen in my entire life), tending to his tulips (...)

Switzerland: making chocolate, going up the mountains, breathing that fresh alpine air

I also think every nation likes interacting with their people. My headcanon is that the people know the nations are nations and are very hospitable to them.

[identity profile] parallelothingy.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm with you on nations interacting with their citizens, although I always imagine that people don't fully realize that they are dealing with a nation, but they will just start feeling intensely patriotic, even if they normally aren't very fond of their country. I also have it in my headcanon that nation-citizen sexual relations are strongly frowned upon, for that reason, because the nation has too much of an advantage over ordinary people.

Liechtenstein frolics through flowers. And she dragged Switz with her.

[identity profile] kuwarii.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
China: Go through every single one of porn sites he can find and blocking him with the great firewall of China. That and constantly finding new things to censor on his interwebs.

[identity profile] piekalla.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Germany tries to get out of the house every day, because Prussia holes himself up in Germany's basement and plays obnoxiously loud music for hours at a time.

[identity profile] silverpawz.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Cuba smokes cigars, eats pastelitos, and plays dominos. Trust me.

[identity profile] leriacossato.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Prussia lives in Germany's basement, only emerging to get more food or go to bug Austria, who is at his piano, composing a new piece.
Finland cooks and keeps the house tidy, and makes sure Sealand does his homework. X)
Sweden I imagine spends a lot of time outdoors, building things. (Swedish people are wonderful craftsmakers. Just look at IKEA lol)
Denmark plays video games, practises with his axe, calls up Prussia, or just bugs Norway.
Norway talks to his fairies, or takes long walks into the mountains and forests.
Iceland sits at home, playing video games. In my headcanon, Iceland is just a normal emo-ish, unsociable teenager.

[identity profile] alatherna.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Poland, like, totally goes shopping or visit some beauty parlors, he probably likes to read a lot of books too, watch stupid polish soap operas and also, he probably goes to a lot of different sports happenings, he probably loves football, volleyball and... ski jumping lol (was totally Adam Małysz fanboy back in the day, really :D)... and he probably drinks a lot... (can totally keep up with Ivan in that :P)

[identity profile] carooh.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Poland calling ALL day to Lithuania, just like two super girly teenagers, all pink

[identity profile] myhiddeneyes.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] gothgrrl13 and I have a theory that England goes to punk shows occasionally. Of course, not that many people know about this ;D except for Prussia and Brazil who tend to join him at times.

[identity profile] sexyhorny.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Russia reads books or watches DVDs in his spare time.

Poland goes shopping and watches chick flicks.

Belarus goes camping in the forest and near some lake so she can have a swim too.

Italy goes to the beach then he goes home to eat pasta and to have a nap.

idk about others, my imagination is quite dead today.

Canada: playing hockey, especially with Vancouver Olympics coming up.
China: cleans his house. Other family members drop in to see him, and he ends up cooking lunch for him.
Korea: watches bad Korean drama and participates in crazy Korean netizen debates about Wonder Girls vs. SNSD

[identity profile] nita-xx.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Korea: watches bad Korean drama and participates in crazy Korean netizen debates about Wonder Girls vs. SNSD

LOL.But he's secretly in love with Super Junior 8D;;.

[identity profile] whitesin.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
South Korea: He has a number of options which include...

1) Playing an MMORPG (He's especially pissed off at how popular WoW has gotten in his country. So he plays a variety of games from Starcraft, Ragnarok Online, Maple Story, etc. It doesn't stop him from having several WoW accounts. And he makes money off Gold farming)

2) Shooting things. This is when he gets especially pissed off. So he goes to a shooting range and tries out pistols. Or when he's trying to calm down, he goes to an archery range and puts up pictures of people he's pissed off at on the targets (favorites include: Japan, SNSD/Wondergirls, various members of Parliament...).

3) Being a gourmet. I can see him going to every single new restaurant he can find and trying out everything he can. Especially if it's limited edition.

4) Doing pottery. He always does this alone.

[identity profile] shoelacemonkey.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Japan - All the otaku stuff. He sometimes meets up with Hungary to take pictures of yaoi couples to use as blackmail and put on the internet.

China - Hiding from all the chaos and Korea trying to grope him.

Both North and South Italy hang out with the mafia. Germany doesn't suspect a thing. When they're not doing that, they're plotting with Canada on taking over the world.

And America goes on facebook or plays violent video games.

[identity profile] sarasa-moku-ren.livejournal.com 2010-01-23 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
America is a total gamer. If Japan and Tony are unavailable, he goes to hang out with S. Korea.

His profile says his interests are science and archeology, so I imagine him working on all sorts of crazy inventions . . . and getting them to work (but mostly only the useless ones. gay bomb XD *snickers*). After all, America has invented tons and tons of all sorts of cool things like. (Oh, and he ADORES dinosoars) Meanwhile, most countries are actually surprised that America was actually intelligent enough to come up with have the things he does. S. Korea isn't though. After all, he REALLY invented them.

I also see him as a dancer.

England is the person who stays home and relaxes in his garden with his books and tea and embroidery. He's also a rather good singer, and goes to kareoke with Japan.

France spends a lot of time in his kitchen cooking, as well as doing art, and flirting (God, he sounds like N. Italy . . . whose hobbies are basically the same.)

S. Italy probably hangs out with Spain for old times sake.

Germany and Prussia play with the dogs, drink beer and watch every TV channel BUT the history channel.

Japan plays watches baseball with America (America invented it, it's the all-American pastime; and Japan has Koshien-fever, as well about a million baseball manga). He also likes idols, anime, classical music. He likes poetry, writing letters, and nature viewing. He also spends a lot of time making traditional Japanese cooking and playing with his cute pets.

And Russia is a ballerina. No one will convince me otherwise. ESPECIALLY after reading Swan and watching Princess Tutu. Ballet is HOT.

[identity profile] sara-rojo.livejournal.com 2010-01-23 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Russia goes to the ballet for sure. He also enjoys reading, but always keeps his pipe on hand for unexpected visitors. Gotta keep his reputation
Whenever she isn't with him, Belarus cooks Russian food ^^

Japan coslays ALL THE TIME. He also reads manga obssesively

America spends his days playing video games and surfing the Internet

The Italies go out every night to seek female company; they also enjoy buying clothes together even though Romano will deny it. Such girls

Germany and Prussia have drinking contests. Germany always wins, but Prussia doesn't let him tell anyone about it. In exchange, Prussia walks his dogs, and has taken a liking to wander the cities and see the weird things that come up

France loves to cook and invite others to his house all the time. He'll have visitors, like, 90% of the time. Whenever he doesn't, he'll invite himself, usually across the channel to bother England

England goes to concerts, usually punk, drinks a lot with his citizens, and enjoys his garden, embroidering or reading. Occasionally he writes for journals

Canada likes highly risky sports. Nobody can beat him.

Spain travels all the time, from one place to another (this is because Spanish people are the Europeans that travel most). When he's home, he'll watch TV and play sports or sleep looooong siestas. He goes out every night to dance and flirt. Occasionally, he cooks and goes to see los toros. He spends all the summer at the beach ^^

Every sunday, Europe meet at somebody's hosue and watch football matches all day. Hilarity and madness and blood ensue

[identity profile] creation48.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Prussia: Play video-game, Drink beer, lounge in the couch, order his bruder around, sometimes walk the dogs.
Germany: Work at home, walk the dogs, Clean the house, bake cakes, read strange books and, when he has time, go out with Italy.
Italy: Work at home, but only between breaks, Try new recipes, paint, take care of his garden. Visit Germany and Prussia when he's bored.
Romano: Take care of his (tomato) garden, does feng shui relaxation, visit spain (after he has done relaxation)
Switzerland: Brew garlic liquor, take care of his house, read economy books.
