TokyoPop has been posting tweets relevant to Hetalia on their official Twitter account.

The letters at the beginning of each tweet refer to the TokyoPop staff member who posted it.
Whether or not this actually means the Hetalia manga is licensed is yet to be seen, but it seems likely.

I am very excited for this, if the Hetalia manga is licensed. Even if it's by Tokyopop. They've done *some* decent stuff... ♥

I was feeling so optimistic earlier, and there goes Tokyopop proving their stupidity once more.

Seriously, way to kill the moment with such a poll question like that, TP. I hope Del Rey can get it instead, I'm very wary of Tokyopop's translations. And if this is the type of attitude they're going to display about Hetalia, it's giving me a lot of secondhand embarrassment. I hope FUNi can handle any polls or marketing with better class than that BS.

I'm not worried about Funimation doing stuff like this. I've disagreed with their marketing before, but it's never been offensive to me, more just 'whoa that is a little bit goofy' or 'it seems like you're trying to sell this to a different audience than will probably buy it,' both of which are inoffensive.

Tokyopop is really, really bizarre and not in a good way about marketing sometimes. Funimation is usually pretty cool. I can't see them marketing it in such a tactless manner.

Me too. I like Del Ray, they've stayed pretty consistent quality wise with their manga despite the economic downturn. Unlike some publishers... coughcoughTokyopopVizMediacoughcough
Plus, I appreciate the translation notes at the end, I like it that if they change a joke or include a foreign word they have the decency to tell you about it.
