Fall of the Berlin Wall +Video (GermanyFRG/ x Gilbert/GDR)

Hello good people out there :))

I want to wish you all a nice day, cause 20 years ago, the Berlin Wall tumbled and fell.
A day we should all remember and think of ^__^ I made an AMV ( and I'm gonna talk to you a bit more about it :3 I hope you are interested :DD *hugs all Hetalia Fans on this special day*

As you all know, Germany was seperated once after the War. After WW2, the Allies seperated Germany in two pieces. The capitalistic Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) for England, America and France and the socialistic German Democratic Republic (GDR) for the Soviet Union. For exactly 40 Years, there existed a stalinistic "Communism" (I don't think Stalinism is Communism, it's a dictatorship) was the policy of a repressed nation.

But let me make one thing clear, the GDR wasn't as horrible as you might imagine <_<''
Many people have the picture of a North Korea now, it's something smiliar, but North Korea is much more extreme than the GDR was ^^ My parents were living in the GDR and they were happy, you didn't have this mass production of food like in a capitalistic system as today and you were happy about many many smaller things that are normal for us today; and that's special!

I finished this Video really quickly today, so it could suck a bit XDD'' What's important about that, is that you MUSTN'T mistake East Germany for Prussia, really XD Prussia is also adapted as "East Germany" in the Manga, but Prussia didn't have to do anything with the GDR ^^;;;
But I took our beloved Gilbo as the GDR in this video :)) "Wind of Change" by the Scorpions is THE anthem for the Fall of the Wall, when you hear this song, everyone think of our German Unity :)

I HOPE YOU ENJOY :DDDDD

I seriously love German History, and ever since we watched Goodbye, Lenin! in my German class, the role of the GDR has been one of my favorite parts. Actually, We watched a lot of videos about the GDR in that class, it was fascinating. I was so angry at my History teacher last year, because she screwed up the curriculum and so we never got to actually study it in class D< I also got to go to an art exhibit earlier this year comparing the art of East and West Germany over 40 years during the Cold War. It was soooo awesome. Afterwards they put up a big canvas outside and said, "pretend this is the Berlin Wall" and so me and my friend painted Germany and Prussia on it. It was pretty great.

.....I think I got sidetracked there....

I mean, just because the austrian actor Arnold Schwarzenegger got famous in America, doesn't mean he's american XDDDD *ROFL*

*facepalm* But, he is. Arnold Schwarzenegger may have been born in Austria, but he has US citizenship. He's the governor of the state of California. You have to be American to hold office in the US. Sorry, but you didn't pick a very good example at all.

What's with the hostility? :/ I honestly thought you weren't aware of Schwarzenegger's US citizenship. As a multicultural/multiracial/multiethnic nation, the US really doesn't have the option of taking the "by blood" stance when it comes to determining nationality. It isn't "stupidity" it's a matter of practicality. I understand that different countries have different ways of looking at things. Hopefully, you'll eventually gain the maturity to be able to understand and respect that, too.

Hahaha, but the assholes are always the most interesting to study! I'm also half German so I'm interested for heritage...

Yeah, you see, we never learn anything really in our history classes, and they're always so terribly biased, but it's better than nothing. I hate it when people are so ignorant about things. I almost wrote a research paper about the White Rose for my English class, but I couldn't find enough sources :(

That's so true! But it's kind of funny, I live in California and Schwarzenegger is the governor, but I always have to pause and think for a second to remember he's Austrian. Then again, I don't think about him really XD
