Fancomic + Huge sketch dump
Title: Ellis
Author/Artist: meself.
Character(s) or Pairing(s): America and Lithuania
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Summary: America has trouble with foreign names.

According to legend, America's ledger is full of things like this.

Title: Sketch dump
Author/Artist: me again
Character(s) or Pairing(s): mostly America, but also some Canada, England, Russia, and a couple others.
Rating: G
Summary: sketches!
Warnings: LOTS OF THEM. Maybe I should have dumped them sooner.

^ Current events.

America and Canada often hang out and play hockey together.
Canada gets surprisingly intense during these matches, so he wins a lot.

Russia also enjoys this sport, but for different reasons.
(For some reason, it's not as popular in the Baltic states.)

I kind of envision the Cold War as a 40-year-long staring contest.
Of course, they did a lot of other things during that time, too, so the analogy doesn't really work.

Research for a project I'm still working on.

Backstory: A Canadian friend recently told me that Canada is the world's number 1 producer of uranium!
I was very surprised to find that out, but she was more surprised I didn't know already.

For a drawing meme. The request leading to ^ this one was (verbatim)
"LIET LIET LIET LIET LIET LIET LIEEEEEET". Maybe it makes sense in context.

Since I requested that sketch I can totally answer trufax.no subject
Ah, "Liet" is Poland's nickname for Lithuania. I think it's derived from "Lietuva," which is his real name in Lithuanian.

Say what? I didn't know that. I am utterly ashamed. All this time we've been worrying about those other countries whereas our real threat is literally on top of us. Wait a minute...it was the perfect plan.

Your style is so expressive! I love it. And hockey mask Russia may or may not have made me snort in terror.
By the by, if you're still doing research for this WWI project you allude to, this (http://www.landships.freeservers.com/ww1figures.htm) is an utterly fascinating reference site which I wish I'd found several weeks ago. If you've already heard of it, excuse me. :'D

I-I love your sketches. <3<3

I like to imagine that the Cold War was when America and Russia played stupid, malicious pranks on each other.
And prank called each other. XD

The name thing happened a lot too, in the immigration department in US many last names were changed due to typos XD
There are also other cases, like the one in which an Irani family imigrated to the US, and didn't speak english, so when asked for their last name they replied "Habibi [I don't understand]" and their last name was forever changed to habibi

Here is me, laughing so hard I'm slumped over the keyboard and okay people are totally giving me strange looks but omg can't stop. Russia, you. You are very terrifying. And awesome. But mostly terrifying.
I love your Canada. So cute and mellow and yet! Kickass when it comes to the hockey. His growly face at America is awesome.
America with the coffee. And Liet. And Germanyyyy. Oh, so many pretty pics to comment on. Love them all.

And I have to shamefully say that I, too, didn't know that Canada produced so much uranium. OAO
