[fanart] When You Were Truly Happy?
Uh...so there's been this bunny that's been bothering me a LOT recently. It has to do with the Romanov family and Russia's relationship with them, namely Anya (Anastasia) and Alyosha (Alexei), the last princess and prince of the Romanov Dynasty.
So I started to draw like crazy.
Title: When You Were Truly Happy?
Author/Artist:
youkofujima
Character(s) or Pairing(s): Russia with Olishka (Olga), Anya (Anastasia) and Alyosha (Alexei) Romanov.
Rating: G
Warnings: Real historical characters used. Full of delusional thoughts via yours truly. Lots of ranting.
Summary: Perhaps, during this time, his mind was clearest, and he was truly happy.
Four pics under cut.
Well, while Russia might not have been completely happy and sunflowers and sunshine during the Romanov's dynasty, but I keep having this thought that he at the very least did very much enjoy being with them since they were charming people privately. This was probably the time frame when he was mostly sane, or at least clear-minded. But the 1905 Bloody Sunday incident as well as the citizens' effect on Russia probably overshadowed that later on. Or something. I guess it'll make more sense if I do a doujin of it.

"Anastasia sometimes tripped the servants and played pranks on her tutors. As a child, she would climb trees and refuse to come down." (Wiki article)
After reading that, I imagined that she also climbed on Russia and refused to come down.
Russia: Nicky...your daughter is attached to me and it's hard to work like this...Olishka, it's not a laughing matter, I want your sister off.
(The Romanovs had this custom where the royalty was raised in a very plain manner and were referred to by their nicknames rather than their titles.)

Russia and Nastya (Anastasia), his energetic little shvibzik.

Russia and Alyosha, the Baby.
The Romanovs were described as being patriotic. Patriotic=love your nation, right?

Once again, the Romanov baby makes work hard for Russia.
Title: Basement, 1918
Author/Artist:
youkofujima
Character(s) or Pairing(s): Russia
Rating: PG-13 for implied violence
Warnings: Real historical characters used. Full of delusional thoughts via yours truly. Short story involved.
Summary: He blinked and realized he was still alive.

(sorry, let's pretend I wrote 1918 instead of 1917, yes?)
He blinked--once, twice, and then realized that he was still alive. Light crept back into his eyes, though there wasn't very much of it, and he found himself reclining against a rickety old chair. The room reeked of rust and iron and cold; it made him shiver despite himself. His fingers clutched the revolver in his hand from the small spasm of his muscles. For a while, he said nothing until the lights flickered above his head and he turned to look at a soldier.
"Where's Anya?" he asked, quietly, afraid of waking the sleeping occupants of the house.
"In the woods, you want to see her?" a soldier asked, motioning with his thumb.
"Oh, no," he answered with a laugh. What a thing to suggest! "She always goes in there like it's her secret base, and gets angry when I follow her. I'll wait."
Bonus coloured picture.
