[Fanart] Portraits - Austria, Hungary, & Prussia.

Summary: Man, I haven't done this in forever. More portraits, y'all! This time it's the Fandom OT3 Edition.

Oh my...

I love these. Especially Prussia's potrait, probably because he looks so sculpted. The shadows and sharp lines and the whole contrast of it...gah!

Though I must say Austria's hands appeal to me very very much as well..

fff the rendering on these pictures is pretty much incredible.

I don't know how on earth you have the patience to do that.

It's kinda relaxing, actually. It's like self-induced hypnosis, all that blending. XD

So I've got quite a thing for hands already (take the Statue of David--sexiest hands EVAR), and Austria's...ooh, so nice. And the eyebrow quick is such a nice touch! ^_^

And I always like to think Prussia picked up smoking after WWII, so this is perfect. (I immediately got the impression of him coming home to his dingey, bare Eastern Bloc flat after working a shitty job, relaxing with a smoke and ruminating about how he can get awesome again ~~not like he was ever NOT awesome. XD~~)

Overall, these are simply gorgeous! I especially love the way you capture lighting and shadows.

...Okay, for serious? That's pretty much exactly what I had in mind when I was conceiving that picture. Only it was just when he woke up in his dingy bare Eastern Bloc flat, and he was having a morning smoke to distract himself from thinking about his upcoming day at his shitty job. But pretty much.

...I don't really mind that it came out looking a little bit post-coital, though. >_>

Goddamn, woman. *whistles* Other people have mentioned how well their personalities come across in this; I'd add that their ethnicities look pretty spot-on, too. Hungary in particular looks a lot like my female relatives on my dad's side (which is primarily Hungarian) -- we all have that nose.

Also, my god, Austria's hands. Those are pianist hands. Mmm. And the lighting on Prussia's magnificent, he's giving off such a Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront vibe and something about that strikes me as ridiculously appropriate. And Hungary's whole posture! I kind of want to steal her clothes, too.

You really are crazy multitalented. *salute*

You know, I've just never much liked interpretations of Hungary that show her as all cute and pretty with that little button nose. Sure, she can be a perfect lady, but she got her start in life as a goddamn Magyar warrior, and then she spent the next few hundred years as a maid. A maid who beat the shit out of anyone who threatened her employer. That is not frilly princess material.

The bit about Prussia made me laugh, because I totally realized halfway through drawing him that I must have forgotten I was drawing Prussia at a certain point, and just started drawing Marlon Brando instead. ♥

the way you drew them is spot-on- their characters come across perfectly; all in all they're just really awesome. particularly like prussia's-
