[fanfiction] Su-San's Compromise

Waah, I wasn't going to post this at all because uh... ridiculously newbish + embarassed but I'm too tired to care anymore. Actually, that's a lie: I care that I posted this right and won't get jumped. DX This fic is not based on or inspired by any historical event-- I just really, really like SwedenxFinland and had this image in my mind. So uh... without further delay, here is my first (completed) fic.

((If you like this, I am open to PG13 requests. >__>))

Title: Su-San's Compromise
Author/Artist: EskimoxonxIce
Character(s) or Pairing(s): Sweden and Finland (Russia, Latvia, and Estonia mentioned briefly)
Rating: G
Warnings: Sweden's accent is haaard ;_____; and as always, I'm stressing over OOCness and too many little things.
Summary: Despite being horribly cold, Finland refuses to accepts Su-san's help so Su-san tries another way...

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

You would think that by now, he would be used to the cold of winter. Every year, however, the winters caught him off guard and he found himself in the exact same position he was in now. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, watch as Finland treks through the deep, cold snow and invites the conveniently named virus infect him. Was he smiling? The facial muscles in his face were numb with cold so he was unsure but he hoped he was. There was no reason to be making faces after a wonderful day with Estonia and Latvia. "Yes, there's no reason to make faces--Su-san!" Finland exclaimed, jumping back in his tracks and feeling pain run down his legs which were frozen stiff from cold. Speaking of faces... He whimpered internally and tried to smile. He was smiling. Right?!

Sweden was ever the silent one as he stood before Finland. He wore a thick, winter coat and his scarf blew dramatically behind him. After Finland was given some time to recover from his shock, he could not help but think Su-san looks warm... There was a long, and akward silence. Gah, what am I supposed to do? Finland whined, internally twisting his face into an expression he would never show Sweden. All that could be heard were the sounds of Finland's shattering teeth and the wind. Oh, the wind! It bit into Finland's ears and face like... like Russia!

Sweden was first to break the silence though admittedly, it didn't ease up the atmosphere. "Aren' y'cold?" Sweden inquired roughly.

"N-no!" Finland stammered, shaking his head no. His neck snapped mid-shake and he flinched. "R-really, I'm not cold." He insisted.

The scarey-faced nation raised an eyebrow curiously as he watched the smaller nation tremble. Once again, there was only wind and teeth chattering. Then, there was the crunching of snow as Sweden made his way towards Finland, slowly removing his coat. He managed to get it off of one arm and made the motion to throw it around the colder nation's shoulders.

"No, Su-san!" Finland exclaimed, pulling back and shaking his head furiously in response to the taller male's advances. His arms were folded across his chest, resting on his trembling shoulders. Sweden, in response, remained silent and expressionless as he held out his coat to the shivering nation. "D-don't! I'm n-not cold! S-so stay warm! I said no, Su-san!" One could hear the assertive annoyance in Finland's voice as he took a second step back and glared at the other nation. "I-if you give me your clothes, I-I won't forgive you!"

... His face was frighteningly expressionless.

Finland thought and he closed his eyes before proceeding to hit his head with frozen fists, I'll 'never forgive him?!' How old am I?! I sounded like a territory still dependent on its mother nation! Ah! Now I've made myself sound like an idiot and I've upset Su-san. ...Omigawd, I hurt Su-san's feelings! Ah, Su-san! Su-saaaaa---n? He could barely make out a pressure against his cheeks followed by a steady warmth that slowly returned the feeling his face. Oh, God, when I open my eyes... I don't want to open my eyes because I know... He was afraid to finish the thought and as he opened his eyes, surely enough, there was Su-san's face looking straight at his.

Their faces were barely an inch a part (much to Finland's displeasure) as Sweden held his face in both hands. "What are you doing, Su-san?" Finland squeaked, trembling from both cold and Sweden.

"You're cold." Grunted the other nation. "So 'm warmin' y'up."

"Please, Su-san," This is really akward, he wanted to say but he rephrased the words carefully, "We can't both stand in the cold like this-- you'll get cold too."

In response, Sweden stared back as if he was trying to burn holes into him. Would the smaller nation prefer to burn under his gaze or freeze to death and be found by Russia?

In the end, Finland accepted Sweden's coat.
