I AM NEVER DRAWING UKRAINE EVER AGAIN.
Her large "tracts of land" are absolutely impossible to draw! DX
I've been drawing too many boys lately.

...And NOW I want to go write something for them. There are so few het pairings in HETalia that are as lovely as this.

Yeeeees... god yes! Do it! I've been craving some fandom love for them since forever!

He reminded her of America, his older brother. They were nearly identical physically (a source of at least one major drunken accident) and had many of the same values. Constantly, Ukraine could see the same desire to protect shining in him, but Canada was more laid back than his fiery neighbor.
Perhaps the frigid winter air helped him cool his jets.
There were also times Canada reminded Ukraine of her little brother. Sometimes his skin was just a little too cold. When he'd smile and hug Koujirou he brought back flashes of another fair-haired child and his big winter coat.
Probably the biggest difference was that Canada was lucid all the time, and not once had he stricken her in some paranoid rage.
Despite Canada's calm nature, he could barely contain his growing, icy rage as his hand traced her blackening jaw. Ukraine knew he was trying to memorize every detail as if he could dish out equal pain at some future date. "He did this?" Canada's voice was all disbelief and disgust.
She opened her mouth to deny it but the words never came out. Her confession spilled out with her tears.
Canada pushed aside his own righteous anger, put it in some deep vault to be taken out at a future date, in favor of holding her as gently as he could while she sobbed into his shoulder.

So okay Ukraine has "large tracts of land." But Canada's even more

"Canada and Ukraine enjoy a close cultural, social, economic and politically productive relationship."
"The main bilateral agreement signed between the two governments is the joint declaration of the "Special Partnership" between the two countries signed in 1994 and renewed in 2001."
Special Partnership was already put into quotations FOR me. This pairing can't get any better...now if only you weren't the only one genius enough to think of it ;).
