Fan Game

Hello!
This is my first time posting a thread here so I hope I'm doing it right. I don't know whether everyone knows about this already, but I didn't see anything about it here and I figured someone might be interested. There's a group who's making a fan game of Hetalia. It's looks like the same format as most dating sim type games, but the game and the site are both in Japanese so I'm not very sure of the plot. The art is really pretty though and it's free to download so maybe take a look. The main site is here and the download link is here .  I think it's still in beta, but I played with it a little and it seemed to run fine on XP.

Ahhh...Gloria Hetalia. It's a sizable fan AU-verse a lot of Japanese fans play around in, each with their own interpretations. The basic idea is Italy--either North or both, usually both---is 'the child loved by God' and thus privy to a variety of angsty situations. Germany is a knight of the church, Spain is sort of a merchant (it depends on the version), England is a half-elf, America is a church assassin, etc.

Looks like you can choose between two main characters in this version, Germany (Holy Roman Empire) and Spain. For North (holy child) and South (heretic child), respectively. I haven't read in detail, though.

Thank you for explaining it! I've been trying to figure out what was going on since I downloaded this but didn't have much luck on my own ^^;; Half-elf England sounds adorable! I have to keep playing now to see if I can see him <3

If you click the blue button on the download page it should transfer you to another page and after a couple of seconds the 'open with or save as' dialogue box thingy should pop up. If it doesn't it could be firewall settings or something with add-ons if you're running Firefox. I hope it'll end up working for you!

That was interesting...a pity I don't speak a word of Japanese. XD I sort of just clicked around for ten minutes until I got a few extra images. But they're all very cute, even if I didn't get far. It sort of kicked me out after getting a cute image of Italy in a church next to stained glass. >3> Pretty pretty. <3

I think that happened to me too. =\ I was playing it just fine (the options were like 'pray' 'study' 'walk' 'rest' and 'talk' after Austria shows up and then you can save your game) then at one point an error came up and closed my game. :( I hadn't saved yet. But I had only played for like 15-20 mins by then.

I think that's what happened to me too...though I thought because it was a sample that maybe it cut off because it's unfinished. o.o I dunno. But at least I'm not the only one. *will try again! >3>*

Just out of curiosity, is the website supposed to be in Japanese? My computer's never had a problem with Japanese before, but it showed up as a bunch of gobbledygook ^^'

I think so. But if you really want to play you might be able to run it from a USB drive formatted to be NTFS or some other Windows-friendly file system. I don't know for sure that it would work though.

I don't think there's a translation anywhere, at least not that I've seen. I wish there was too. Download seems to be working for me now. Their server could have been having a...server moment before or something XD;; Also, it takes a little while for the "Save As" box to come up after you click the blue button.
