[news] New simple character profiles!

Simple Character Profiles Part 1 is up!

It's all in Japanese, so I will try to translate some sooner or later. Right now the Allied Forces' characters' profiles are missing, but we have a lot of the new characters--like Iceland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc!

[identity profile] fukou.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
UKRAINE, HK, ICELAND, BELGIUM. CANADA!

I mean. Thank you very much for posting the link to this! This just made my day asd0asds.

[identity profile] fukou.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh what, I just noticed that Korea & Sealand's expressions're practically the same. They must be long lost bffs.

(Sorry for the spam!)

[identity profile] som-lejon.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm quite fond of this format for character profiles. I mean, all that we already know of the characters, in one simple place! ... This means a lot to me, lolol.

O Magic Eight Ball, tell me next time we'll have Turkiye, Norway, and Denmark....

[identity profile] mighty-mu-mu.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome, they have a descript of many new characters. There's also profiles on the characters added in www.hetalia.com by the way.

[personal profile] derogatory 2008-10-30 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
ah any thoughts what- "お茶らけてるように見えて" is supposed to mean? Is お茶らけてる some kind of idiom or am I just missing the point?

Thanks!

[identity profile] nisecal.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] hollowmoon.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, Canada is the only one with a "san" appended to the end of his name. I find that retardedly cute ;w;

"While he seems to act very silly, he acts with thought."

お茶らけてる pretty much means "teasing by saying jokes" aka . . . acting silly.

[identity profile] shiroro.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
I still love how Austria and Hungary are married.

I will look forward to the day Kaz draws the scenes of their divorce. LOL

[identity profile] fayore.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
I noticed that too. ¦D;; I wonder why?

[identity profile] hollowmoon.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I... think he's actually one of the very few who uses honorifics in his own speech. I suppose it would only be polite to return the favour :O!

butohgodsomoe

[identity profile] fayore.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Is it really that rare in the comics? If so, I haven't noticed. :D;;;

So.

So moe. ;A;♥

[identity profile] hollowmoon.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeeeah, me too, to be honest ;3; patriotismSHAMElol
But, well, in one of the comics, UK mistakes Canada for America, and the only thing that manages to tip him off otherwise is the fact that Canada calls him "Igirisusan"
"...'san'? ...You're not America!"

waaa
But now I'm motivated to check out the other comics in more detail to find out!;;

[identity profile] sapphire-pyro.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
It was a new page? o_o I thought it was just a page I missed from the website when I saw it fom the author's blog ^^;

thanks for sharing, and advance thank you for the translations xD

[identity profile] fayore.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 05:39 am (UTC)(link)

I always knew that Canada's usage of honorific speech was used as a main point to distinguish him from America, but pffft. Geez, UK, you're so far removed on your island there... XD Where is that comic, anyway? I'd totally love to read it~ \o/

ETA: Neeeeevermind. XD;; I'm so forgetful. *knows exactly where that comic is, olol*

[identity profile] kataankoryu.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] ex-nikkita.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Long shot, but it might have to do with honourifics = polite, and politeness being a Canadian stereotype :P

[identity profile] fayore.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmyeah, but an honourific appended to a name indicates politeness on the part of the speaker, not the person being referred/spoken to? |D;a

BUT YES Canadians are so stereotypically polite XD (to the point of being accused of apologizing for every little thing!) ♥
