Summary: If there's one thing Toris knows...

If there's one thing Toris knows it's to keep quiet and very still when Ivan is drunk. He knows that he doesn't mean to shout, to wave the bottle around until it hits the wall and is suddenly a weapon. He folds his hands in his lap and fixes his eyes on the floor while the bigger man shouts and slurs abuse to the sky. He looks up when Ivan throws the bottle to the floor, lifting his feet onto the sofa to prevent shards making him bleed.
"... And Alfred'll be sorry. And that Arthur! The whole stinking lot'll be fucking sorry they ever crossed me!" Ivan yells, swaying and falling to his knees. Toris sighs at the drama and stands, stepping around the glass to put his hands on both of Ivan's shoulders. He stays quiet, stays still, even when Ivan stands and kisses him with vodka on his breath and hate in his heart.

Toris grinned across at Ivan, his shirt rubbing against the fresh cuts on his back and sticking with the blood. Ivan smiled back, but it did not reach his eyes. He always seemed so sad now, so lonely, so cold. Toris moved the chess piece and rested his chin on his palm. He had to be strong for the both of them, now. He had to get them both through this new spat with Georgia and America. Alfred. Toris loathed Alfred with all he had, loathed him for snatching a sane and happy Ivan away. Alfred would not ever admit to being the bad guy, but Toris secretly blamed him for everything. Ivan gulped from the bottle of vodka that stood on the table between them and stroked the knight with one finger.

Smile, even though it's breaking.

"Checkmate." Ivan clapped his hands together. Toris bowed his head, still smiling, and wiped away his tears.
 I'm sorry if it's awful and OOC! *hides*

The drabbles are not awful and are not OOC.
Please, never say such things about the things you write, even if you feel uneasy about them. That's the best thing to make people go away and read anything else.

Actually, Lithuania ardently supported Georgia during the five-day war, and accused Russia as a aggressor. So it really OOС :)

о да xD можно сказать, что и до распада Союза подобные чувства были бы... кхм... сильным преувеличением ^__^ (то же, между прочим, касается и всяких "ужжжасов" в описании их отношений)))

кстати, ура - полку русскоязычных в данном сообществе прибыло =) до этого знала максимум двух человек (не считая себя самой, конечно). интересно, сколько всего тут нас таких? *озирается*

maybe i'm wrong, but i'm think that the use of historical context requires the author's careful handling of the obvious facts
