A question about Prussia

Sorry, another question, I wanted to draw a picture of Hungary, Austria, and Prussia (fully inked and colored), but what colors are Prussia's eyes? I've seen in many pictures that his eyes are red but in other pictures his eyes are blue. More recently I've found pictures where his eyes are a combination of both.

So what are the color of his eyes exactly?

(If I'm doing anything wrong please tell me, I'm new at this kind of thing.) ^^

As far as I know, they're red.

I've never seen pics of him with blue eyes, actually.

I read somewhere he used to be pictured with blue eyes and blond (not ~white) hair to make clear he's Germanic (Ludwig's brother, Germania's son, etc), but that he's ~albino, with light hair and reddish purple eyes

Though I always thought this was strange, all the eye and hair colours Himaruya uses look very natural, almost un-manga-like (no bright yellow blond etc.), why give him red eyes?
I guess the exact shade of red/purple/violet you use is up to you in the end ...

Lol, yeah. Himaruya seems to treat him differently from everyone else anyway because he's ... uhm, yeah, dead. (;____;)
So maybe he can have red eyes just because they look so OMG BADASS and who cares if it's unusual? |D

I'm not SURE, but I think his character design was originally bluish-purple eyes (as seen in the official color chart, or the official cell phone chibi).
For example, in the, um... Christmas mayhem, was it? The one where France and England square off naked in the Chunnel? Well, if I remember correctly, Gilbert appeared there with unmistakably *blue* eyes. [See here] (http://community.livejournal.com/hetalia/133460.html)

But so many MADs and fanart depict him with red eyes (I think this could have been a misinterpretation of the color chart) that...
...well, this is really only my own opinion, but I think that Himuraya changed his mind and decided that a red-eyed Prussia clearly blew the scales off Awesome XD, and started drawing him that way (the Ore-sama Blog).

So obviously we can't tell what exactly happened, but clearly 1) Gilbert does have blue eyes in that one christmas story, and b) clearly has red eyes on his blog.

Oh yes,
this is something I've only seen in some MADs, but some artists depict Prussia with red eyes, and then Gilbert's eyes fading to blue as the GDR.

GDR = German Democratic Republic. What the now-east-parts-of-Germany used to be until 1990.
Many people have the theory that the character Prussia sort of turned into GDR after WWII, but Himaruya never confirmed nor negated it.
