Hi! On this site, which has info on a lot of upcoming anime series I found a little interesting info about APH. Using google translator I found out that each episode will be 5 minutes long and will cover one story. It's obvious that the genre will be gag. (And I totally approve of this form)
Airing date is still unknown, but personally I think that it's possible to expect the anime in early 2009, spring, maybe?

Well, it is possible that anime'll be aired more often because of short eps 8D And I wouldn't be surprised if we'll get lots of eps ^^

Still, the thing that is making me most curious is the opening. I wonder how they'll manage with it. Standard 1:30 is kinda too long. If OP and ED were like that there would be only 2 minutes left for the story itself :/

Let's hope they won't ruin it :3 Still, I have no idea about the song itself, like genre or lyrics. Not many of them can fit into the theme. Music only would be kinda good.

Even if they'll mostly animate manga panels I'm still going to be happy. Seeing the charas move and talk ♥ But still, I'd love to see some original content made only for the anime.

Until we get official info we can only have more and more "if's"

Er -- they had better not. ... MAYBE IT'LL BE LIKE THAT ONE SHORT ANIME -- Maria-sama ga Miteru...? (I think.) Where there were shoujo ai hints strewn in here and there, but it was short and nothing came of them so no one saw a big deal about it.

If nothing else, the animators should realize that first and foremost they are countries. GENDER COMES SECOND. ... or something.

October? No way, what's more, aren't Autumn season anime already decided? When I looked up info about nearest airings and there were lots of titles.
Late 2008/ early 2009 sounds possible to me. (I'm stalking hetalia.com everyday for updates 8D)

They did it with Lucky Star and I drop it after 4th ep, couldn't stand it. Making yonkomas and short mangas into standard time anime sucks D:

I'm personally glad it's going to be so short, if not just because it means it won't become ultra-mainstream and our precious little community here won't get overrun with "OMGGGG I SAW THIS ONE SHOW WITH BISHIES ON YOUTUBE AND IT'S SOOOOO KAWAII!!!" Which sadly is the case with most 30-minuters with hot guys. ._.

But this, this is gonna be really cute. 5-minute format is so perfect for Hetalia. :D

I hope it's normal proportions, personally. I'm also pretty curious as to how they're going to transfer the artist's art style over. Like...I didn't think Soul Eater looked ANYTHING like the original manga. (Not that I mind; I didn't think the original Soul Eater's art was all that nice.)

Yes, the drawing style is the thing that makes Hetalia even more awesome.
I didn't read SE manga... So I can't compare anime style, but I love it, it suits the story.

I wish they'd at least give us which season it'll be coming out. I was sad to see it wasn't on the Fall 08 list. :( But maybe Winter 08 or Spring 09! :\

Cool! Since Hetalia's mostly short gags anyway the five-minute ep format should work well. :] There are some sub-plots (wars, Liet's Outsourcing) that span several strips that wouldn't really work as shorts, though... Some of my favorite Hetalia strips are the relatively crack-free, serious-ish moments, I wonder if they'll animate those?

BTW, looks like they have... trading cards for sale on hetalia.com? DO WANT >~
