[Blog Update] America in prison gear, Germany with a pickaxe, and Italy being... Italy
Translation provided by

*UPDATE: Belarus and Sweden as ghosts, and I believe a Winter War!Finland?

I wonder, if the orange uniforms of American prisoners are so popular as cool Halloween costumes, couldn't it happen that actual prisoners would mingle in with the crowds?

The spirit of the apple tree in Mir castle that the owner ordered to cut down is still revenging herself by luring people into the lake...
(apple tree legend)

The ghost of Room 324 of a Swedish hotel is like the Romeo of a Swedish version of Romeo and Juliet.
A commoner and the daughter of a baron fell in love, however, the baron did not think that was proper, and to put and end to it had his daughter marry a man of a different status...
[T/N: This refers to the Taftaholm Herrgard hotel in Sweden: http://hotelhaunted.blogspot.com/2012/0 1/toftaholm-herrgard-smaland-sweden.html ]

Also chibi Germany and Italy are just the most adorable things. Looks like Germany's trying to tunnel out of there, and Italy's doing little or nothing to help (acting as lookout maybe?)

America, you're looking fiiiiiinnnee. Actually, the only popular costumes here are superheroes, recent pop culture references (Miley Cyrus' VMAs performance), and the typical sexy everything ;3;

Google-Fu says:
"You say if you go out to Room # 324 Hotel Sweden
Romeo and Juliet Romeo Sweden version.
Daughter of Baron and commoner But of fell in love
Baron did not think it well to
It would decide to get married with a man there is a position and the other daughter ...."
Sounds like a haunted romantic Romeo and Juliet hotel room legend o.o

And Sweden looks very nice in the newest sketch posted. :3

It might be related to Prison Ship Martyrs Monument (http://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/FortGreenePark/monuments/1222) located in Fort Greene, New York, NY 11201
"This impressive monument, consisting of a 100-foot-wide granite staircase and a central Doric column 149 feet in height, was designed by renowned architect Stanford White (1853–1906). The monument marks the site of a crypt for more than 11,500 men and women, known as the prison ship martyrs, who were buried in a tomb near the Brooklyn Navy Yard."
In 1776 American Major General Nathanael Greene supervised the construction of Fort Putnam on high ground that is now part of this park. During the Battle of Long Island, the Continental Army surrendered the fort and retreated to Manhattan. The British held thousands of captives on prison ships anchored in the East River. Over 11,500 men and women died of overcrowding, contaminated water, starvation, and disease aboard the ships, and their bodies were hastily buried along the shore. These brave patriots represented all thirteen colonies and at least thirteen different nationalities. In 1808 the remains of the prison ship martyrs were buried in a tomb on Jackson Street (now Hudson Avenue), near the Brooklyn Navy Yard. I don't remember when it was -- it was a while ago -- but he posted a drawing of America with a veterinary hospital in the background. It was this hospital (http://goo.gl/maps/EnmiT). The address is 59 Hicks St. Brooklyn, NY 11201 (for Brooklyn addresses, you just list "Brooklyn" as the city, not the neighborhood. ^_^). In the drawing/picture, the streets were much nicer looking, as it was the middle of summer (much obliged if someone can find it)!
So while I think it's a more personal reason for 11201, it's entirely reasonable that this was inspired by the Martyrs Monument, which just happens to be in the area.

Thank you! I couldn't remember where I'd seen it before, and there's been so much posted lately (I knew it wasn't recent but it's been so long). Here's the calendar page. (http://25.media.tumblr.com/51e7826cf239df6c946920f8d5c5cf46/tumblr_mgn6c0PxHF1rltalxo1_500.jpg)
I know that Hima's posted a few pictures of New York before, specifically Brooklyn, and I know he lived here for a while, too. So after much squinting at the image and determining it said "Heights Veterinary Hospital," I just Googled that and Brooklyn et voilà, it's the first hit. :)
