Blog Title: The Tokyo Olympics caaaaame!

It's a bit late to say this but I'm really looking forward to Tokyo Olympics! Spain's strangely alluring speech with "I have to do olympics, otherwise it's economically over with me in Europe!" was so cute. Just what I'd expect from Spain.
And the picture is Norway.
It's just text this time, I'm really sorry.
> I'd really like to see a character speaking in Tosa dialect (Kōchi Prefecture in Shikoku)!
I'm from Kōchi myself and
I always thought it would be lovely if somebody in Hetalia would speak with that accent.
To be honest, I'm currently pondering whether to make
Australia and New Zealand speak with a Shikoku dialect!
It looks like it could perfectly convey Australia's mysterious English.
>Do Hanatamago and Pochi
live as long as the countries?
Or do they have usual lifespans?
Hanatamago and Pochi are both normal dogs, but
their lifespans get longer because of the strange timeline of their owners.
If they get separated, their lives continue as they would with a regular dog.
Kumajiro too is supposed to grow into a huge and impressive polar bear.
If a normal person would be close to the nations like Pochi for a longer time,
their perception of time would get so warped that they could eventually lose their mind.
By the way, I couldn't decide whether to make Kumajiro a speaking stuffed toy or
a real polar bear, and then I saw a picture of a polar bear
happily frolicking through a private house in Canada! A real polar bear it is, then!

Thank you so much! I'll be sure to add in this new info to the wiki in a bit. I guess this finally debunks the old rumours of Hana possibly being Åland Islands that used to float around in the early days of the fandom. I wonder if this also the case with the other animals too like Mr. Puffin?

No problem! The question sort of says "Hanatamago and those like her such as Pochi" and doesn't specify just dogs(despite them being the only examples given), so I'd say so? Mr. Puffin's been with Iceland for a long while, so I don't see why not. . .and I always figured Germany's dogs were the same way.

And more canon information on Australia, New Zealand, and even the nation-tan's pets! \o/
(Thank you for the summary - I hope you're feeling better soon! <3)

Mosoli on Tumblr (http://mosoli.tumblr.com/post/61558372242/yo-so-hetalia-updated-idk-if-someones-translated) did a rough basic translation of what went on, little bit more info on things just to let you guys know.I'm really excited about the news with the pets since that basically cancels out any of the fandom's early theories on them being other countries like Hana as the Aland Islands, it's so nice to finally know about it! Though it makes me sad to think that if a nation did leave their pet behind or something along those lines, the animal will eventually... ;A;no subject
Does anyone know if Australia and New Zealand spoke with Shikoku dialects in season five? I'm afraid that I still have problems hearing accents in Japanese.
Also, I sort of like the idea of Kumajirou being a stuffed animal that only Canada could hear. It reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes. (And now I'm kinda wanting some type of crossover/AU fic about that...)
Thank you for the update and translation summary!

I LOVED the part about the pets! I think this end all the sad headcanons since they can accompany their owners for a long period of time instead of living like "normal" animals <3!
Oh, and do you think this can somehow explain why Prussia is still alive and don't age? Since he lives with Germany and hang out with other nations all the time? Also, since he's not human, this don't afect him like it would with normal humans?

Aaaaah, I LOVE it when creators of series add extra information about the world the characters live in!! I think it's great because it helps make them more 'real', and I also think it reflects the level of interest an author has in their work. After being away for so long, Hima still wants to add more detail to Hetalia.
Maybe I read too much into things, but honestly, that alone makes me so happy. ^^;;;;;

Hima-papa, I'm going to cry.
"If they get separated, their lives continue as they would with a regular dog." No, that's way too sad!
"If a normal person would be close to the nations like Pochi for a longer time, their perception of time would get so warped that they could eventually lose their mind." NO oh my gosh. That makes me terribly sad, so a person wouldn't be able to be with a nation as long as the pets or they'd basically go crazy, it just makes me upset for some reason thinking about it.

And ah I love how Himaruya solved the pet problem, it's simple and nice,I love the head cannon for it (definitely better than the fan theory that pets are districts, cities etc.)

Even if the image is small, Norway looks awesome!
I want to hear more about Australia and New Zealand, we still know so little about them ;v;!

I absolutely adored the bit about the pets' lifespans. Honestly, it made me think for a while. For people and pets who develop close relationships with nations, their biological time clock slows down. That's interesting. It also makes you question how nations themselves perceive time and how this phenomenon affects those around them. It's also tragic in a sense because now there's another canon reason why nations generally don't form close bonds with humans, only this one's for health reasons rather than emotional reasons. ;_;
I really hope Hima continues to flesh out details about the "rules" of the Hetaliaverse like this. Bits of info like this are absolutely juicy and add so much depth to the series.

That's so interesting! Is it bad that the angst potential makes me happy? =X

and hima just confirmed my theory about the nations' pets. i always thought they give off some sort of energy that will prolong the lives of animals the longer they're with them
