[Blog Update]

Blog Title: The Tokyo Olympics caaaaame!

It's a bit late to say this but I'm really looking forward to Tokyo Olympics! Spain's strangely alluring speech with "I have to do olympics, otherwise it's economically over with me in Europe!" was so cute. Just what I'd expect from Spain.

And the picture is Norway.

It's just text this time, I'm really sorry.

> I'd really like to see a character speaking in Tosa dialect (Kōchi Prefecture in Shikoku)!
I'm from Kōchi myself and
I always thought it would be lovely if somebody in Hetalia would speak with that accent.

To be honest, I'm currently pondering whether to make
Australia and New Zealand speak with a Shikoku dialect!
It looks like it could perfectly convey Australia's mysterious English.

>Do Hanatamago and Pochi
live as long as the countries?
Or do they have usual lifespans?

Hanatamago and Pochi are both normal dogs, but
their lifespans get longer because of the strange timeline of their owners.
If they get separated, their lives continue as they would with a regular dog.
Kumajiro too is supposed to grow into a huge and impressive polar bear.

If a normal person would be close to the nations like Pochi for a longer time,
their perception of time would get so warped that they could eventually lose their mind.

By the way, I couldn't decide whether to make Kumajiro a speaking stuffed toy or
a real polar bear, and then I saw a picture of a polar bear
happily frolicking through a private house in Canada! A real polar bear it is, then!

AAAAAHHHHH NORWAY LOOKS SO COOL AND STYLISH!! I wonder what Hima has planned! :D

Thank you so much! I'll be sure to add in this new info to the wiki in a bit. I guess this finally debunks the old rumours of Hana possibly being Åland Islands that used to float around in the early days of the fandom. I wonder if this also the case with the other animals too like Mr. Puffin?

Ahhh, new blog update! <3 And with Norway you look so handsome. - aslfjsldfkjh *is so happy*

And more canon information on Australia, New Zealand, and even the nation-tan's pets! \o/

(Thank you for the summary - I hope you're feeling better soon! <3)

Thank you!! Mosoli on Tumblr (http://mosoli.tumblr.com/post/61558372242/yo-so-hetalia-updated-idk-if-someones-translated) did a rough basic translation of what went on, little bit more info on things just to let you guys know. I'm really excited about the news with the pets since that basically cancels out any of the fandom's early theories on them being other countries like Hana as the Aland Islands, it's so nice to finally know about it! Though it makes me sad to think that if a nation did leave their pet behind or something along those lines, the animal will eventually... ;A;

Ah, another blog entry! It makes me so happy to see that Himaruya's back. (*´▽`*)I admit, I was a bit afraid that he'd make one post and then disappear again like last time.

Does anyone know if Australia and New Zealand spoke with Shikoku dialects in season five? I'm afraid that I still have problems hearing accents in Japanese.

Also, I sort of like the idea of Kumajirou being a stuffed animal that only Canada could hear. It reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes. (And now I'm kinda wanting some type of crossover/AU fic about that...)

Thank you for the update and translation summary!

thank you so much for the translation!! the bit about humans going crazy if they spend too much time with a nation is so interesting!! ahh this is why i love hima's posts ;w;

[identity profile] pookie-mookie94.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

aaww thanks for the translation! I love you!

[identity profile] vampirenaomi.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you for the translation! Since I'm a huge Fritz/Prussia fan, I don't know how to feel about the bit about how humans might go crazy if they spend too much time near nations. It makes the pairing more difficult to work with, but at the same time it creates a nice angsty element of "I love you, but we can't be together because it would hurt you" for Prussia.

[identity profile] lost-hitsu.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
If I may offer my own opinion, I don't think Himaruya means rulers and/or partners of the nations - more people like personal maids and servants who would live with them in the same house for decades (like the pets mentioned). I imagine there would be a lot of kings and queens close to their nations and it wouldn't make sense if they all just went mad because of that.

[identity profile] vampirenaomi.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
That's certainly the perspective I'm going to go with, though considering how many rulers at least in Europe have been more or less cuckoo, this could explain why that is. :P

[identity profile] boo-sagara.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
First, thank you so much for the translations!!!

I LOVED the part about the pets! I think this end all the sad headcanons since they can accompany their owners for a long period of time instead of living like "normal" animals <3!

Oh, and do you think this can somehow explain why Prussia is still alive and don't age? Since he lives with Germany and hang out with other nations all the time? Also, since he's not human, this don't afect him like it would with normal humans?

[identity profile] pixygal.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
maybe that's why the US imposed a limit of two 4-year terms for their presidents... being around America for longer than that would drive them nuts! XD

[identity profile] lost-hitsu.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha that would explain the craziness of Europe and our hereditary monarchies.

[identity profile] perryplatypus.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you very much for your translation!

[identity profile] misty-rain.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much!

Aaaaah, I LOVE it when creators of series add extra information about the world the characters live in!! I think it's great because it helps make them more 'real', and I also think it reflects the level of interest an author has in their work. After being away for so long, Hima still wants to add more detail to Hetalia.

Maybe I read too much into things, but honestly, that alone makes me so happy. ^^;;;;;

[identity profile] disneyotaku.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for the translation!

Hima-papa, I'm going to cry.
"If they get separated, their lives continue as they would with a regular dog." No, that's way too sad!
"If a normal person would be close to the nations like Pochi for a longer time, their perception of time would get so warped that they could eventually lose their mind." NO oh my gosh. That makes me terribly sad, so a person wouldn't be able to be with a nation as long as the pets or they'd basically go crazy, it just makes me upset for some reason thinking about it.

[identity profile] sne-stjerne.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for the translation!

[identity profile] reyechan.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
Woah I'm just struck by the fringe sadness of maybe Kumajirou being only a stuffed animal. Poor, lonely Canada being tired of being ignored and creating an imaginary friend, and then even the imaginary friend can't remember who he is most of the time... ;;A;; Excuse me whilst I cry in this corner over here...

[identity profile] boo-sagara.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
In the comment above you, lost_ritsu transleted that part as:

"By the way, I couldn't decide whether to make Kumajiro a speaking stuffed toy or a real polar bear, and then I saw a picture of a polar bear happily frolicking through a private house in Canada! A real polar bear it is, then!"

So, he is a real polar bear :3!

[identity profile] reyechan.livejournal.com 2013-09-19 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
That's relief, but I still will always wonder how it could have been. I should try to not dwell on sad things, though.

[identity profile] pixelmicrocat.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
Hima. Hima. Ana Botella's speech for the Olympics wasn't cute at all. Hima it's too early for this I'm in class I can't laugh like this
this is way too amusing omg

[identity profile] fairywine.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
Thank god that Hanatamago is Åland theory has been torpedoed once and for all. I'm pretty sure Hima will never do an actual Åland Islands for various reasons, but for purposes of fic and so on at least this means Åland isn't a dog.

I also find it so cute Australia and New Zealand speak with the same accent. XD

Thanks for the translation!

AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

*screams into the distance*

[identity profile] elizabetamargie.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much for translating lost_hitsu!

And ah I love how Himaruya solved the pet problem, it's simple and nice,I love the head cannon for it (definitely better than the fan theory that pets are districts, cities etc.)

[identity profile] boo-sagara.livejournal.com 2013-09-18 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaaaahhhh it's so good to see a new update <3!!!

Even if the image is small, Norway looks awesome!
I want to hear more about Australia and New Zealand, we still know so little about them ;v;!

[identity profile] heyyl0.livejournal.com 2013-09-19 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you for the translation! Norway looks great, and I'm so excited for Hima! He'll get to have the Olympics in his country. \o/

I absolutely adored the bit about the pets' lifespans. Honestly, it made me think for a while. For people and pets who develop close relationships with nations, their biological time clock slows down. That's interesting. It also makes you question how nations themselves perceive time and how this phenomenon affects those around them. It's also tragic in a sense because now there's another canon reason why nations generally don't form close bonds with humans, only this one's for health reasons rather than emotional reasons. ;_;

I really hope Hima continues to flesh out details about the "rules" of the Hetaliaverse like this. Bits of info like this are absolutely juicy and add so much depth to the series.

[identity profile] pinaki93.livejournal.com 2013-09-19 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oh geez this new info about pets and humans are certainly something! Maaan I've been waiting to hear something regarding that and now we have it!

[identity profile] jungle-dizzy.livejournal.com 2013-09-19 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
their lifespans get longer because of the strange timeline of their owners. If a normal person would be close to the nations like Pochi for a longer time, their perception of time would get so warped that they could eventually lose their mind.

That's so interesting! Is it bad that the angst potential makes me happy? =X

[identity profile] heden-el.livejournal.com 2013-09-21 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Thankyou so much about this informations! That's really interesting, especially the part about nations' pets. I find it strange, but also really cool: at least, that explains why they all look so young XD

[identity profile] nebulous-mirage.livejournal.com 2013-10-04 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
omg norway looks so cute

and hima just confirmed my theory about the nations' pets. i always thought they give off some sort of energy that will prolong the lives of animals the longer they're with them
