Funimation's English Subtitled Hetalia: TBW Episode 5

Seems like Funimation will upload their Hetalia English Subtitled videos more on their website than the YouTube channel. Just a heads up there since I don't see the newer episodes on their YT account. You have to make an account on Funimation and be over 18 to watch their Hetalia videos.

Other than that, let's cry tears once again to create a new sea for this episode.

Is anyone else being told they need to subscribe to see it. :| The episode list says you can watch it free today and that's been true for every episode so far, but not this time? Is it because it's 4PM and not 3? I'm sorry I got caught up in playing Neopets games, jeez, let me watch my Hetalia!

I'm not sure. It was working well for me around 3 PM on my regular account.

The only time it needs Elite Subscription is for the English Dubs of Hetalia. Plus, when I was trying to access the website, things were going crazy there. When I check the Episode List directly on Funimation's Hetalia website, it is not shown there. Even from Recent Simulcast list, it does not have the letter E needed to show that it's for Elite Subscribers.

I thought it was my internet connection or weather...

When I check the episode list, it gives today's date as if to say "you can watch this for free on this date" but. . . .
And then when I go to the page for it, it says I need a subscription. I usually watch it at about 3:30(because it says the simucast is at 3, but it's never actually viewable for like half an hour) so I figured you needed to watch it at 3 or something and that was why it wasn't playing. . . .

Maybe it'll work in a bit. My Internet was acting up around the same time, but it just made the page stop loading and made the menu load indefinitely until I refreshed. . . . It seems to be fine now, though. /will check back later :|a

Episode 5 does not appear in the Episodes List of Hetalia on the second last page when I go view it.



Yet it is shown in Recent Simulcasts list. There is no E for any of these videos.

I'm having trouble seeing it too. It keeps telling me I need to be an elite subscriber, which it never did before. I've been trying since 4, last week I watched the episode off & on all evening with no trouble, so I doubt it's the time. Maybe they linked it wrong & it's requiring something it normally doesn't.

Yeah... although I did notice it's only got the date under watch it free at the site where it lists the hetalia episodes. It also has watch under subscription. So hopefully, they haven't decided to charge everyone to watch it.

I think the date's trying to say when it's supposed to be available. . .the links are the same, though. Or, would be--there's nothing in the url that says it's sub-only. I think it'd just have a dash or something if it weren't available. So maybe they know there's a problem and that's why a link hasn't been put there. . .idk. . . .

The video was free for viewing when it first streamed. I had a few loading problems during it(not sure if it was the connection, weather, or the Elite subscription thing going on), but I managed to view it despite it all.

I'm really guessing something went wrong during that time when it was available as a Free video after 3 PM EST. What exactly? I'm not sure, to be honest.

I don't think so.

The only kind of episodes that needs to be Elite Subscription are the English Dubbed episodes and any videos that relates to their own on dubbing the series. Maybe there was an error in coding or uploading.

Funimation website though is good to access and watch series, can get messed up if you browse on it too long. Like bugs and everything.

Hopefully they will fix it by tonight or tomorrow.

I've only watched Hetalia there. I did notice last week it got a bit funky if I left it on pause for too long. ^^; *watched it a few times as it was a good episode*

I'm getting that elite video subscriber message too... and when I click on it (I'll pay(?) why not), it says page cannot be found?

I'm not sure what's going on that website. I was even logged into my non-Elite subscription account when I first got that messaged.

The video was working for me around 3 PM, but I am not sure what is going on.

Hetalia Videos Episode List is not showing Episode 5 there on the second last page and in the Recent Simulcast List (http://www.funimation.com/videos/simulcasts-recent), it does not have the letter E needed for proof that it's limited for Elite Subscribers.

I'm getting the same message as everyone else, but I have a question about the fansub.
It kinda seems like they were using the comic translation. Usually the anime has a slightly different dialog. Or maybe I'm overlooking things?

From the last time I was able to see this video, it is close to what they are saying, just different wording used by Funimation Entertainment. It is still good how they used those sentences to convey what the characters are saying and feeling.

Despite the silly description down below, the English Subtitles they were able to translate is deep and beautiful. There are times when Hetalia gets serious and times when Hetalia is funny. Not just for English Sub or Dub of anime, but just Hetalia in general. Webcomics, manga, anime, events, you name it.

It just looked exactly the translations for the comic, and I was wondering if someone just used those. Because the anime usually uses slightly different wording then the comic does.

Yeah, straight from the webcomic. Though how it's said is different to convey the same message.

The fansub uses the same fan translations on Hetarchives.

The Funimation English Sub that is NOW working(thanks to Hulu there), has different wording that is close to what they say in the webcomic. There might be times it uses fan translation, like the China I choose you, but it depends. Here is an example of France's explanation on the ship quote,

France: They say, "The government is the sails, the people the wind, and times the sea," right? If the sails are unfurled and there's a good wind, the ship moves forward fine. Well, there are times that it could suddenly run ashore and it'd all be over. So it's something like that.

As long as there are people who repair the ship, it can be used forever, right?

Added: Another example near the end with the wife, Funimation translates it out that she would feel sorry for her husband if he lived forever.

Am I the only one who doesn't know how to watch the subbed version on Funimation when it's streaming live? I can't even watch it when i get the subscription notice and log into my account.

I wish Funimation made this less confusing. All I get is some banner and I really hate having to do a search to find the actual link to it.

It's up now. I just finished watching it. Whatever the issue was, Funimation fixed it.
