I honestly can't wait for the translation, because it's getting interesting since I've already read the latest news about the political tension in Hong Kong, because of Beijing government are more or less taking more and more control over Hong Kong's system, despite Beijing governments promise many years ago, before UK returned HK to China in 1997; one land and two systems policy. -> http://www.aljazeera.com/news/asia-pacific/2012/07/201272916371456512.html

Anyway I'm glad to see Himaruya's new pages again. :)

Same here. In real life, HK citizens aren't exactly pleased with the way China's exerting its influence over its government. Especially when it comes to freedom of speech and the use of taxpayer's money. Then, there's the ridiculously high housing prices and the surprisingly pitifully low standard of living. And just recently, there's a FB petition to save a HK radio station from being shut down.

I'm kinda amazed that in the Hetalia 'verse, HK isn't acting snarky towards China. Or maybe he is. I can't tell by his facial expressions. Anyhow, their real life sentiments towards each other are... complicated to say the least.

LMAO OH MY GOD JAY I DIDNT EVEN REALISE YOU POSTED THIS HELLO

[identity profile] xxmapsyrxx.livejournal.com 2012-08-02 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I am very interested in the poem China recited.

Maybe Himaruya-sensei used a different version, but the version I know has a few differences from the ones he recited. In the last line, instead of "Wind of the Fall" I got the version that says "Wind of the West". I don't know if there is a Japanese version or something? The title is also a bit different.
Himaruya-sensei also picked a poem that was written during the Ming, which is not the most well-known period for excellent Chinese poetry(I don't mean good poetry did not exist during that time because it certainly did). He didn't pick from a superbly well-known poet and the most well-known poem written by this poet is NOT this poem as well. Hmm...This is all very interesting.

Thank you for posting this raw scan.

Same here.

I was expecting that he would pick poetry from the Song or Tang dynasty.

[identity profile] island-of-myst.livejournal.com 2012-08-03 02:31 am (UTC)(link)

Thank you very much!!

And reading several of the comments here, honestly I didn't know anything about the relationship between Hong Kong and China and what was going on. So thank you guys for sharing that and telling us these things!

[identity profile] brinara.livejournal.com 2012-08-04 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
For some reason I think they look brotherly.
And that for some reason Hong Kong was saying "DEME DEME DEME" over and over in one panel. What wonder that word means, China looked insulted.
