Announcement: George DeValier fic dubbing

Cristal-cut and Jennirawrx3 on DeviantArt have started a project in which we will be reading and recording George DeValier's stories (they gave me permission to announce it for them, since they didn't know how LJ worked), and the auditions have officially opened! You first need to become a member of the GeorgeDeValier-audio group on DeviantArt (just ask for an invite), and all the information is there. There are currently auditions only for the story We'll Meet Again, and the more people auditioning and wanting to become a part of this project, the better!

Hi! I'm new to this fandom, so may I ask why George DeValier's stories are "infamous"? At first, I thought his (or her) stories would be something like My Immortal, but they seem fine...

George DeValier's fics are known for being historical AUs and have been very popular in the fandom. Two of the most popular fics he has written are "We'll Meet Again", which is a USUK WWII AU ("London pub owner Arthur Kirkland is driven to distraction by loud, brash American fighter pilot Alfred Jones. Unable to stop it, Arthur finds himself falling for Alfred's charms... just as the pilot is preparing to leave for war.") and "Auf Wiedersehen, Sweetheart" a GerIta WWII AU ("Feliciano Vargas is a passionate, if slightly scared, Italian resistance member. Falling in love with a German fighter pilot was the last thing he expected... and it will test his national loyalty, and his heart, to their limits.")
Even if you don't like the pairings, I do highly suggest his work because they are simply beautiful, in my opinion :)

I think that the reason they asked is because "infamous" means "having an extremely bad reputation" - which is precisely the opposite of what the OP means.

It's a very common mistake, don't worry! Maybe just "famous" would give the meaning you were going for?

Thank you. I just finished reading it, and it was a wonderfully written fic. :D
I might even audition, haha, if I can get my microphone to work...
