Custom Cosplay Skits

Hey guys!

I recently got into a graduate program for dramatic writing that is across the world, and I need money in order to get a plane ticket.

And I figured, how else can I use my playwriting talents? I see all these cosplay skits on youtube, and I know a lot of you love to cosplay and go to cons, and participate in skits. That's why I'm offering custom Hetalia cosplay skits. Just give me the characters in your group, the length, what you would like the plot to be (or I can come up with it myself), and when the event is. I'm charging $20 per skit.

I promise they will be really good, really funny, and really accurate.

I know this sounds like a weird thing to sell, but I know some of you would be interested.

Comment here if you are interested!

I would like to help out but better yet, I'll say this. It's not a good idea to offer Hetalia cosplay skits for money because technically, it's not any different than, say, selling fanfiction.

Sorry if I'm butting in but, if she writes it then what's the problem? It's basically selling a commission, and how would that be different than something else - say fanart?

Over the years, I've seen some mixed to negative reactions towards fanfiction commissions (unless it was raising money for a charitable cause). I do know that's different from publishing in physical form and I don't see much of a difference between fanart (including doujinshi) and fanfiction commissions myself.

Maybe this type of commission is acceptable. I don't know but fan writing for commission is somewhat a grey area. I don't have a personal problem with this but I wanted to give her a heads up since i don't know if she's posting a similar thread in a different community.

Personally I think that if people will pay you for what you're doing, and they're okay with it, then that's acceptable. But I don't feel like this is the sort of thing that people will want to pay for, because as barrelsncrates said, it's a really iffy thing to be selling. I know I wouldn't pay someone to write a skit for me. In fact, I don't even know if it's OKAY for people to perform skits at most conventions that they did not come up with entirely on their own? They usually have a ton of rules about making all the costumes yourself and doing most to all of the work yourself with exceptions like having outside people do voiceovers and using other people's music.
