Hey, everyone.


I couldn't help but notice the magnitude of games produced by the Japanese fandom compared to the Western one, if any exist at all. I was lurking on one of the forums and the mention of a program known as RPG Maker that the J-fen has been allegedly using to create their fan-made RPGs cropped up. I found the website for it, and since I've got enough money saved up, and after I test it I'd like to then buy it and begin making games that the W-fen wants to see. I do have some experience creating 2D games so I figured that this wouldn't be too difficult for me to pick up. (I've bought RPG Maker VX Ace as of today.)

Basically, I want to create games that the Western Hetalia fandom wants to see. Besides making games, I have experience writing fanfiction as well as digital drawing. However, I was wondering if other people were interested in joining me in collaboration in current or future projects in whatever they specialize in and be a part of future projects.

I also thought it would be fun to host polls and have the community here help choose what kind of games you'd like to see, and vote on what you guys want in a game. I''m pretty excited since I know that we're all full of ideas to contribute. :)

Thank you very much! Good luck with your project! (I'd contribute if I had anything to contribute. I suppose a dating sim-like game would be fun to see? As well as a general RPG one. . .someone was working on a really cool horror sort of game a while back, but we haven't heard from them for a while. If I could help with anything, it'd likely be dialogue of particular characters, to keep them in character. But I really just came here to ask you to tag this properly. It may also need a cut, but I don't really think so--it's not too long.)

I am definitely interested! I used to program small projects. My only real game experience is a workshop for the RenPy engine, but I think I can adapt pretty well since I have the fundamentals.

Sweet! I'm pretty sure that RPG Maker uses Ruby/Pearl (I think lol), and I heard that it's not too difficult to pick up. :)

Since you've expressed interest in creating Hetalia-centric games, please join hetaliaworks.livejournal.com This community is going to be the meeting ground and where we'll post ideas and whatnot and will generally put an ease on collaboration between members. The first thing that will most likely be posted are the credits, or who's doing what. Your name should be there, and some will have multiple places due to interest in fulfilling more than one role. If you'd like your position changed or would like to fill more than one role, the credits will be subject to change should you deem it necessary.

Overall, this will be the hub for everyone who has signed on so far. Once I've alerted everyone, I will begin posting things such as rules and once everyone gets settled, I'll begin detailing my ideas for the first project and from there we'll deliberate and discuss.

Ahh man, I remember attempting to make a fangame awhile back. RPG maker's easy until you set the modes on the icon set... that's what destroyed me OTL

I may have a few Gakuen sprites hiding around somewhere on mediafire, so if you'd like them I'll dig them up. I'm good with sprite making and visual art so I'm on board to help you out if you need anything with the characters or items done! :D

I've been using RPG Maker XP for years. :) Never got into VX, though, I think the graphics are too ugly. I've made a metric buttload of sprites for it, including a ton of Hetalia ones that are free for others to use if you're interested.

Oh good grief, I started my RPG Maker XP sprite website in March of 2006. Where does the time go??

What are you good at? There's a lot to do so as long as you have something to bring to the table, we're good. If you aren't sure, we could always use 'QA' testers post-game to play through the game and basically journal their experience and bring anything wrong, like plot inconsistencies, bugs, grammar errors, etc. :)

Okay, I couldn't help but notice how awesome your style is. I want to be a main character designer, but would you like to be a character designer for other characters? Also, your coloring skills are fantastic. What do you think of collaborating on promo art as well? Like, I could draw and you could color? Because, well, my coloring skills kinda epicly suck...lol.

I like this idea. Are you talking about a Hetalia game or an original storyline with original characters, something completely separate from Hetalia?

There's a fan-made Hetalia RPG in production, and I'm not the main person in charge of it, but I'm working on the music and doing some art for it. Well, I actually plan on making several Hetalia games, if possible. They're all going to involve Hetalia characters, but the first one may not be set in Hetaliaverse, I suppose. It really all depends on what people agree on and feel like doing. :)

In terms of music...my fucking God. Your pieces are subliminally epic! We would definitely love to have you on-board as a composer! Also, your art! It's fucking fantastic as well! Would you like to help in the promo art? I definitely want to make posters and whatnot, and feel free to involve yourself in whatever other art you'd like. ^^
In terms of writing, we do have a few scenario writers including myself, but you're definitely welcome to sign as one and write scenario for projects that interest you~ Does this sound okay to you?

Your art is awesome! I noticed that you're really strong in working with SAI, so I think that would make you great at coloring line-art as well as the EPIC effects you pull off in photoshop. I think we could definitely use the backgrounds, so you can do that as well. :)

I can perhaps make some flash game, like Hetalia flash dating game using the MMD models. But I just still can't figure out the story line or the story plot inside the flash, maybe like the Gakuen Hetalia? Besides, exams are coming and I'm not sure if I could finish projects on time, but I'll try my best!
