Summary: (I was trying to read the Wizard of Oz books for the first time in my life and then somehow this happened) Spain is an empire built from gold. But what he could really use is a heart.

I wanted to see if I could do something like this and it turns out I could! Very possibly because I had other important stuff to be working on so I spent my time drawing all this instead. Extra sketches and stuff are on my Tumblr if that piques anyone's interest.

I kept saying to myself, "I have to draw them holding the door open, because it'd probably be really awful to shut Romano inside when it latches on the outside." Which then turned into, "Although I guess that wouldn't really stop Romano, he'd just headbutt straight up and shoot out the top of Spain and take his head off, lol." And then I couldn't just not draw it, and then it became a bonus page, and I am muchly pleased with the lulz.

Aw yeah that would be really awful getting shut instead, but Romano got this shit handled haha. If you had not drawn that I would have been so sad because it is so good. I might not have known you were thinking about it, but I would feel the absence in my soul.

Aww then I am glad that I say whatever crack comes into my head and then let people egg me on give into urges to draw ridiculous things sometimes, so that they do not have to be forever absent in people's souls. It's like I've worked hard on a noble cause!

Romano has all the shit handled. Sure Spain is scary and intimidating and a good hiding place and has a big sharp axe, but it was probably Romano's terribly loud, echoing snoring that kept all the scary things in the woods away while he slept.

Without Romano, Spain would not be able to handle any of the scary creatures. Romano is just chilling with him out of pity like seriously, Romano could go out alone all by himself and be fine but Spain is an idiot and Romano is just doing his good deed for the day okay. Okay.

Damn straight! Romano was not lost, okay, Spain should be just effing grateful that Romano was so clever as to stumble upon him and fill Spain with zeal for life again, otherwise Spain is so dumb he just would've sat apathetically under that tree forever until... until he... until whatever happens to gold when you leave it out in the elements. Romano's such a generous person.

And Romano was not crying, maybe all those damn trees and things in the woods should be chopped down by Spain's sharp axe for making so much pollen that they gave Romano temporary allergies, shut up bastard.

Gold is a soft metal or something, so trufax Spain would not have survived the scary creatures very well without Romano protecting him. Now that Romano is deigning to grace Spain with his presence, though... ...someone's probably going to be very busy un-denting Spain a lot of the time. Good thing Romano has a very hard head. (Spain deserves everything he gets, and also look how Romano is helping Spain's economy by creating a job, Romano is like a goddamn saint.)

Romano never gets lost. You drop him anywhere and he fucking knows where he is. Romano is a champ at not getting lost. He saw Spain looking like a dumbass under that tree and was like you know what, no. I will not stand for this, I'm sick of dumbasses. I will use all the generosity in my soul to make him stop being a dumbass. It'll work.

That is definitely what happened. He saw the axe and was like oh good, he can fix these damned trees.

Spain should be fucking grateful for everything Romano does. Romano doesn't need him one bit, tch.

AND THEN THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER, all on account of how Romano is even more wonderful than the Wizard of Oz.

And all the parts where they were not living happily ever after are all Spain's fault, that bastard, stop ruining all the generous saintly magic Romano is working. It's not Romano's fault that in addition to not having a heart Spain also hasn't got any brains and Spain doesn't even want brains he's just content to be stupid forever and cause Romano trouble, that utter jerkface.

Spain should just be happy that Romano deigns to spend his valuable time with Spain, and letting Spain grow him tomatoes and feed him and do all the chores so that Romano can take naps instead. Where would Spain be without him, that is right, Spain would still be a moron with no brain and no heart sitting under a tree lost in the woods getting mauled by scary creatures, instead of being a moron with still no brain but making himself useful to society by improving Romano's quality of life.
