Hello, ladies and gentlemen! I'm new around here, and I'm hoping to get a little help with a podfic I'm trying to do. The fic in question is "sucker punch", from the kinkmeme (warnings for dealing with incest, sexual abuse, and violent deaths). I've never podficced before, and when I listen to my own voice on tape it sounds so horrible to me I can't judge it properly (my vowel sounds are weird). So, I'd like some concrit. Here is a sample of me reading the first section of the prologue. Can you tell me if I'm reading too fast, too quiet, etc?

Hmm...it's very well-read, and a good speed. I guess my main concrit, would be that you don't really carry the emotions from the fic over in the way you talk. You sound slightly too...not nessesarily happy, but something along those lines. IDEK what I'm saying, in case it's not obvious. ^^;;

Thanks for the advice. I was going for "serious but not emotional because I'm supposed to be a neutral narrator", and evidently didn't quite get it. I'll practice.
