Macau is the quiet cool brother.

Hong Kong is a gourmet gossip that likes to tease people for his own amusement - his profile in volume four says exactly that. His appearances prior to that have shown he's anything but quiet - he's complimented Russia for saying something that made him laugh, willingly strips from a maid's dress in front of China, teases Iceland for talking about England, makes bets about China with Macau and Taiwan, and entered the 2011 Bloodbath with the overly dramatic, 'End of the line! I like, kinda won't forgive your evil deeds!'

It's one of those instances when a character's appearance doesn't necessarily reflect their personality. His 'calm' comes off more like apathy, not self control.

Other than that, Hong Kong itself is a very lively city, and with a title like マジ感動☆香港Night, I'm not surprised at all that they went with a dancebeat. All the Vocaloid songs with that title style (which I'm like, 90% sure is what they're referencing) have been techno pop.

...Plus, aren't firecrackers all about loud sounds and bright lights ;P
