Ah, okay, thanks. <3 I'm still not sure about the last one, though. I don't think it's a command; I think it's just America being overly dramatic.

Mmm. Are you familiar with the Ace Attorney games? "Hold it!" in the Japanese version is 待った!... That's the first time I saw the usage. I'm not sure exactly why it's like that, I think it may be a contraction of sorts, like なんてことだ into なんてこった. Or it could simply be that the "a" sounds more tough and manly than "e," so it's kind of slurred into "ta." XD
