As Christmas fast approaches, so does the long-waited, ever-loved and cracktastic thing which is a Hetalia Christmas Event.

So, what do you expect from this event?

What will the plot be, if there is a plot at all? Will there be boundless fan service costumes like Halloween or will it be a more serious moments and drama like the bloodbath? How many sleepless nights will we have to endure before we are start having a love-fest and telling everyone “I love you guys” ext ext?

And will Romano keep his title for event king?!

I personally think that, as in the promo, you see a present falling out of the sleigh, and I think that is America’s present. He goes hell bent on getting it back. Hilarity ensues.

Or, I always like a event based on a fanfic I read about “How Prussia stole Christmas” sort of thing :D

....This will be hard since it can be as random as everyone transferred to the mochi land and Estonia become the mochi ambassador and something like find their way to go back to the real world.

Or it can be another Finland santa crisis. He never had a peaceful Christmas, huh? Poor Finland

Or It can be Prussia together with France&Spain messing up with Christmas. Personally I want an anti-BTT which consist of England, Austria and Portugal. Why? Because I love BTT so much

Or about Finland going around the world to give each nation a present. You can't spell Christmas without Finland.

OR....an open-instant request from Himaruya.

Or something else, and this has the biggest chance of all my suggestion.

I feel like there'll be a significant amount of micronations...

But I honestly can't guess besides that.

I'm kinda hoping that Hima will introduce some new characters, even though I've been quite happy with everyone he's introduced since Hetaween.

Well, I think anything could happen because hey, we're talking about Hima sensei, right? But some things that came to mind:

- European countries will not be able to do anything too grand to celebrate Christmas because of the financial crisis. The solution is all come together and make one big party conference. The countries of other continents like the idea and decide to throw a big party with all of the continent as well. The thing becomes a contest of the best party of the year. In the end, everyone realizes that the most important thing is love and they decide to bring all parties into one. All get drunk and dance. Happy ending.

- A monster/creature from another dimension begins to attack Norway. Things could be solved with the help of the Troll, but oh no! The only thing that can defeat it is butter! Then, all the countries arrives to help, and bring lots of butter to fight the monster. In the end, it's all a plan of Norway to end the crisis of butter. Everyone makes a big party. Happy ending.

- France decides to strip all countries (how creative!). 5 new countries appear to the delight of all. Some fans die from nasal blood loss. Fanservice end.

- Mochimerica and Steve team up to annihilate the world. The world ends. Bad end.

- Whatever happens, Romano appears to save the day, Christmas and the world. All weep with joy and excitement. Epic end.

There will be a plot, but it will not make much sense XD Remember last year? It was suppose to be Christmas and turned into New Years! Lol, good times.

I think it will be a bloodbath, as it has been each year.

We will endure lots of sleepless nights (which won't please Santa at all) and after the first day, we will be crying to one another.

Romano has been king for a year! It'd be wonderful to have him keep the title, but I think it's going to get snatched this year! I think that the micro-nations will have a big role in this. And something to do with Finland having problems with the sleigh and he needs help from the other nations (not like 2009, something different).

“How Prussia stole Christmas”?!?!?!?! YES. A MILLION TIMES YES. GREAT IDEA!!! Better yet, with France and Spain! Bad Friends Trio!

I'm not gonna lie, I only got into Hetalia around May-June this year.... and Hetaween was my first experience of an event! <3
Just wanted to ask, why do people call it a "bloodbath"? XD I genuinely thought that some nations had died or something... OTL

(And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of a BTT/Grinch crossover! XD
They should kidnap Finland and take over his sleigh. ;))

Also, I'm liking boo_sagara's plot idea of Norway's butter crisis. ;P I'd actually genuinely love to see this! Haha

I'm very go-with-the-flow when it comes to future events (case in point: what am I going to do after undergrad? Get a master's, I suppose. And after that? NOOOO CLUE!) so I'm just going to sit back and speculate freely with everyone's ideas =D

So up for anything BFT. Love those idiots to death. DEATH, I tell you! /squeezes France's neck tightly in fangirl glee

However, I guess my predictions - rather, guesses - are that Finland/Scandinavia will take on an important, probably narrative role, there will be MUCH fanservice, hopefully Hima's recent generosity of introducing new characters will continue, and ROMANO WILL TOTALLY KEEP HIS EVENT CROWN.

I look forward to event-ing with everyone, now that there is no class! <3

Ooh! I joined lj just to experience this "officially" instead of stalking from distance...

First Christmas event for me so I'd have no idea what it was like last year but if it's anything even close to Halloween event, I'll be expecting some random bashing with some signs of plot every now and then. x) Can't wait! Let's have a blast since it's holidays and nothing can stop us from staying awake. :D

I honestly can't come up with anything. BUT! I have a feeling there will be major fanservice, insanely messed up 'plot,' and lot's and lot's of good times XD
And as much as I love Romano, I think his crown might get stolen this year. Maybe by a mochi or a gun wielding N. Italy. lol! IDK!

I missed the bloodbath last year because I'm a newbie fan (hi, hello) and joined for pretty much the same reason as clueless0309. XD

If we had something based on the butter crisis, that would be seriously epic. Oh, Prussia gets inspired and goes around stealing the butter from everyone like in "How Prussia Stole Christmas"! Then the micronations have to team up to get it all back!

Honestly, I'm worried about it.

Himaruya will be AMAZING to us like always, I'm sure. He never disappoints. Even when he's slow at updating, he makes the cutest apologies, and more than fixes everything with the epicness of the updates themselves. He's the best mangaka a fandom could hope for.


:/ But with the new LJ style, the fandom's not going to be pretty. Event posts always hit more than 5000 comments. And at that point? Captcha. It used to be mild annoyance, but mostly people joking about it instead. To be honest, I liked it. It's made to filter out spam, and that's what it does.
T__T But now we'll have to go through this with a website that can't load Captcha. So it's going to be nothing but rage, since it takes about ten or so tries to see the Captcha, on top of whatever it takes to read it.

Easy workaround is to make new posts, right? But if there's a new post made every time it hits Captcha, the mods get mad at whoever's hosting the event threads.


.__. So. Yeah.
The comic will be great, no matter what the plot is.
But unless a mod finally disables Captcha or someone makes a separate event comm without it, the event will be a disaster.

One will work with the other to keep each thread is used as its purpose. And mods....I hope our mods will be around to clear things up :

*squirms in chair* I'm so EXCITED. I had a blasty blast during Hetaween, but I've heard that the Bloodbaths are the more notorious Hetalia events.

As for what happens... heck if I know. XD I'll be able to guess better after I see the event get rolling, like during Hetaween.

I have an inkling that we'll get to officially meet Portugal, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Maybe Mexico too, depending on who that other person was at the end of Hetaween?

I'm hoping that the present falling from the sleigh in the preview image is a hint as to the plot. Maybe some epic quest will be in order to rediscover a nation's lost gift? Or perhaps the gift falls into the wrong (probably Prussian) hands? Or both?

Honestly, as long as we get a nice hearty serving of Italies, Germanics, Spain, and/or Hungary sometime in the event I will be immensely pleased.

I think this event will last at least a week---nine days tops. I can feel it!

I love drama, so I'm sort of hoping we get a dramatic/epic plot. My guesses would be...


1. A European Union-themed event, introducing Croatia, Czech, possibly Slovakia, and maybe some other former Yugoslav nations. The exact plot---hard to tell knowing Hima. XD

2. Regarding the butter crisis of Norway, and like another suggestion I read, all the countries come together to surprise Norway with butter from each country, the surprise organized by Finland.

3. I second (or third, or fourth'd????) "How Prussia Stole Christmas". Yeah!

4. Maybe this one is going to sound sappy, but...the present dropped by Finland happens to belong to a poor little girl/boy and when Finland finds that he dropped the gift he is very distraught. The countries find out about the incident and work together to traverse New York City (where the gift falls over) to find the lost gift. The Micronations find it (or Romano, to keep his title of king). They return the gift, and the little kid is happy. Happy tears!

5. Steve returns as Scrooge, and a hilarious parody of "A Christmas Carol" ensues.

6. HIMA PULLS THE ULTIMATE TROLL MOVE AND SIMPLY READS US FANMAIL AND CALLS IT THE CHRISTMAS EVENT

7. Finland's reindeer are on strike! What are you going to do? Get England to turn all of the Allies and Axis into flying reindeer, and they fly around with Finland going to different countries to deliver gifts of course! The quirk about this whole scenario?...............................when the countries turn back into human form at the very end, they find that all their clothes were ripped off during the transformation. Oh, honhonhon~

8. Or, the economy is so bad, the countries fill in for the elves and build toys for the kiddos.


But whatever Hima does, I hope we get to see a few new nations and some beautiful blood loss. :)
