[Discussion] Possible explanation for Mochimerica's lettuce?
So, I know by now Mochimerica and lettuce have become mimetic.
Well I just remembered. In addition to looking like Mochi, Mochimerica looks like a steamed bun:

My mother makes these sometimes, and guess what she cooks them on to prevent sticking?
Lettuce leaves.
So, Mochimerica could be a steamed bun cooked on lettuce. The steamer is his Mommy and the lettuce is his Daddy.
Let's talk about the biological properties of mochi nations some more.

But I also remember that if you put the moves on Mochimerica, he blinks you out of existence. D:

In Japan, it's common for mochi to be wrapped in leaves but not lettuce...
I thought sensei was treating mochi like a pet XD (rabbit specifically)

And steamed bun cannot stretch like a mochi =3=

Two, that's a really serious epiphany, if the mochis are really buns.
Though I doubt it. They have been shown to be very glutinously stretchable...
So sadly, I think I'll agree with mame_meme with the pet feeding theory.

You're making me crave it DDD8<
Anyway, /if/ Mochimerica is a steamed bun, I wonder what filling will he has...
