I was wondering, what is your top 1# moment of hetalia? Canon or fandom.
We're talking about the best highlights you have had in the hetalia, the best comic you've seen, the best fanfic, best doujin or just moments in general, whatever...

Just your top 1# moment / highlight of hetalia :)

Mine would have to be, three days in 24/7 watching relentlessly at the hetalia Bloodbath 2010, basically delirious from updates and laughing my head off at the memes in Captalia, there was that point were everything was slowed. Everybody was just so tired and starting saying how awesome this is and how awesome everyone was... just spreading the love around XD
I dunno, that part, that moment of kindness and comradeship (battling tiredness, you see)... just had such an impact on me it was quite weird. I felt so happy. Maybe I was too tired so we were all getting emotional. Oh well, that was my number 1 moment of hetalia :)

Canon. Realizing that the Christmas strip would be animated and not cut out the part of Italy reaching into his pants. Also the time the animators had Italy naked like in the issue in the third season. I don't know why but that and the arm wrestling scene made me happy the day it was released. Fanon the Hetalia Bloodbath. I missed most of it but that is what made me decide to become a member of Captalia.

My number one moments are basically when there is blatant Italy x Germany because they are my OTP. Until Holy Roman Empire comes back or something happens in which it reveals Italy is still holding onto hope that Holy Roman Empire will come back. Man I wish that issue was resolved so BADLY!

Finding and reading the Doujinshi From The New World With Love that is about American and British history, telling the complicated relationship of US and UK through the years.
It's authentic and simply great, just the right thing for an history maniac like me ^^ Best Hetalia moment until now!

My best Hetalia moment hasn't happened yet, but I know what it will be. I started attending a Japanese class this September, and one day I'll be able to read all the beautiful Fritz/Prussia doujins that I've bought. That'll be the greatest moment for me.

Personally: How it made me passionate about the history and politics of Taiwan and Belarus. It also helped me with my historical anime withdrawal when I finished Le Chevalier d'Eon.

Canon: The first time I saw America back when the first episode aired. I loved how it was a parody of America, but still an affectionate one (unlike my opinion of dub!America).

Fanon: Crackships!

RP: A USUK RP that somehow turned into Americax5th Doctor and EnglandxTaiwan when myself and a friend tried to bring in as many fandoms as possible (and believe it or not, those are the more normal ships that ended up in it!)

Awww...I feel kind of sad that I missed the Bloodbath now. I had JUST gotten introduced to Hetalia at that point and hadn't started to obsessively follow the blog like I do now, hahaha.

Anyway, my favorite Hetalia moments:

Canon: Finding and reading Buon San Valentino, which just completely changed my perception of what the series could be. Until then I had just seen a small amount of Hetalia material, and assumed that format of the series would just be one-off jokes and that there wouldn't really be any character development. So the Valentine's Day strips were a pleasant surprise for me, I loved how they (humorously) looked into the intricacies of the relationships in the series and kind of fleshed out Germany's character. ALSO- biggest twist in the series? I'd give it to the end of BSV.

Fanon: Is currently happening! I've been following the Spamano fic "Bottoms Up!" on FF.net for months now and it has seriously become a weekly ritual for me to stay up late on Saturdays to read the update as soon as it's posted. It's just such a ridiculously hilarious fic that has an emotional spectrum from "cracktastic Lovino in women's clothes" to "really serious reflections on what it means to love someone despite their past."
Goodness, I love this fic so much sometimes that when I read actual canon material I get confused: "So wait, Hetalia isn't about Romano and Spain's established relationship and isn't filled with the former's sassy, sexy comments? Whaaaa?"

I'll agree with ithinkithought my favourite canon moment of all time is reading Buon San Valentino and seeing so many definite hints of GerIta and the HRE=Germany theory being true. I'd love for this strip to be resolved, and hopefully that HRE is Germany. I'd really really love for GerIta to finally be acknowledged as a fully canon pairing. It would make my little fangirl heart so happy ;3;

As for fanon; oh goodness the Bloodbath was just the best time ever. No sleep, constant theories, massive post counts, inside jokes aplenty, and a feeling of belonging to a community with all of you guys. It was amazing and I hope one day to repeat the experience with another Bloodbath/event.

Best moment canon? Lemme say that Christmas 2010 and April Fools 2011 were the best. Also, Himaruya did a sketch for my OTP (Espamano) and I felt like touching Heaven with my hands.

Fanon? That doujin, "The sigh of Russia", was the best moment. B-kaigishitsu doujins are also the best!

And... this is rather sad, but I loved how everybody sat together and hoped everything will turn out well for Japan and its people after the earthquake this year.
I always felt secure in this fandom, but at that time, I really felt like this is my second family.

The Christmas Bloodbath XD because its how I finally got involved in the fandom. All the memes, all the friends made, all the getting yelled ay by my parents for hogging the computer, and of course the nekkid mens

Also when my friend introduced me to the series and the aftermath when i marathoned all the comics and the whole anime up until the end of season 2(thats what i was up to when i started).

Discussing fics with my friends, can't get enough of coming up with theories for Seven Little Killer XD

I second the whole fanon thing with Bottoms Up.
It is truly my weekly highlight to read the update on Saturdays and I've been reading it since February, falling deeper and deeper for my OTP and boy, when she made that shout-out with my name yesterday, that just made my whole life.

Canon: Hm hm, the events, of course.
But somehow, I'm still waiting for certain strips to be animated and I think, when that happens, I'll truly have my greatest moment in canon.

Personally: LOL, I'm so bias, but at my birthday this year, Himaruya updated with a pic of Spamano and that just made my whole day.
But I also gotta say that Hetalia has caused me to meet some of the most lovely people I've ever known.

Basically every single bloodbath/April fool's/Eurovision/World Cup event.
BECAUSE I FUCKING LOVE THIS COMMUNITY. Because staying up till 6 AM waiting for un update with all of you guys was just pricelss. Because Hetalia is beautiful <3

But the best moment of all still hasn't arrived: the day in which Hetalia's main canon pairing will come to a conclusion and HRE will get his happy ending ;^;
I don't care if Himaruya has to change the course of history to make it real, it must happen. BSV can't possibly end like that! >///O///<
Also, this will probably remain as the fandom's eternal wish, but it'd be so nice if all the other mildly-canon pairings could have some canon romantic moments like Germany and Italy . NOW THE DAY THAT HAPPENS I WILL INVITE YOU ALL TO THE PARTY IN HIMA'S PANTS. AND IT WILL BE GLORIOUS.

See, when I first saw any of the bloodbaths, it was the Christmas 2010 one. And I had absolutely no idea what was going on. But I knew I kept checking back to see what was new.

But my favorite moment with the fandom was the April Fool's bloodbath. It was so much fun to read each update and to see everyone in the lj community discussing it.

Not to mention the friends I've made since joining the Hetalia fandom ^_^

heheheheh Canon moment would definitely be the Christmas Bloodbath 2010. That was just insane you guys... 2010 was just a really good year for hetalia in general I think, the popularity peaked and then with that event, it kinda exploded... ahahahaha so much fun times

Fanon moments well for one, we had a very active cosplay group around my area and the meet ups were always such highlights for me~~ fanime 2010 was especially fun since we ended up having random hetalia meetups everywhere hetalia fans have magnets to them that attract other hetalia fans when more than one hetalia fan gather in a single place

Staying up and reading the Chosen End was also a good one

Finding the updates to Risorgimento (IT IS A GREAT HISTORICAL DOUJIN YOU GUYS, THE ART IS SUPERB AND THE PLOT IS SO MOVING)
